A bit of a pillow head, nice surprise for an adjunct beer in a small glass. Darker gold than previous. Smell is pretty light but after a while I just catch some unmodified wheat. Not as much coffee taste to this, but the notes of grain from a home made style farmhouse. Date & hazelnut latte to pair does affect the taste, but this nice and complex, with both coffee and plum with the wheat.
Served at this Beer & Coffee pairing with Folklore Coffee Date & Hazelnut Latte.

Unassuming look of a pale lager, a bit more gold to it perhaps. Very little foam after one minute. Some coffee nose with a side of toffee and hazelnut. Taste is, yes, big big coffee. First ring on the palate, followed by a little lager taste, toasted malt and all.
Served at a Coffee & Beer pairing, with Folklore Coffee Toffee Nut & Blackberry Latte.

16 oz can from Orange & Brew. Pours a kind of brownish, ochre, and opaque color. Thin bit of foam at the start. Does have a nice strawberry soda nose. Taste is a big fruity cocktail of strawberry, with watermelon off to the side. Only slight Berliner tartness, outrun by some creaminess. Have to admit I like the Bistro Cabanas

2002 vintage bottle, tasted 11/16/03. Poured nice layer of pinprick bubbles, like a nitro pull, that dissolved into a thin layer of bubbles posing as a head. Dark reddish-brown body. Big smell of coffee malts, raisin and plum flavors, very chewy, with a subtle hop balance. Still, none of these makes for a great barleywine compared to the others, but then it's a style in which there's a lot of competition to go "bigger," innit?

Says right on the bottle, "Vintage 2001 C." Had a 2002 already rated that I can convert to another batch. But meanwhile:
Deep brown pour, no foam. Smell has some raisin and plum, a little faded, but nothing has gone off. The taste, meanwhile, is also a bit faded. I'm typing through a bit of bitter aftertaste, but it started rather light. Still some maltiness and fruity ale notes, but the mouthfeel is comparatively light, and not boozy at all. I think the alcohol will creep up on me, but I'm hardly feeling that at all.
