Taster pour from can with Church Street brewmaster. Typical golden pills color, a bit of white lacing. They didn't rinse the glass after the prickly pear, so I get a bit of that in the nose. 4.8%. Of course it's nice and smooth: tinge of lemon zest perhaps.

Tasted from can at Goldfinger.
Reddish pour from the can. Smell is like a Jolly Rancher, but kind of creamy. Taste is actually pretty tart, yet dry. I don't know that much about prickly pear, except that it's a cactus too. But it may have given this flavor even without being in a sour beer. Vanilla as part of the package keeps it creamy.

Bottle pour at Goldfinger. Autumn Brown colored, show some nice tan Lacy in the glass. Nose is malty and a little yeasty, bit kind of mild. Dark malty taste of an alt, an impression of, but probably no physical smoke involved. A little malt sweetness. Settles in nicely

2020 bottle. Got this in a trade for some strong old beers, but this was the least strong and most recent. Opened with a gusher (any bottle with a punt in the bottom, I'm opening in the sink). Poured into a tulip, it's a cloudy yellow color. Thin but foamy white head. Nose of lemon soda, and a little farmhouse funk. Nice little funk in the taste, that's getting me to pucker up as it builds.A little horseblanket comes in, and there is a thread of oak as well. Tried to swirl some dregs in the finish of the pour, but much of it stayed in the bottle.

Bottled. Yum! I’m still cellaring my one bottle, but I got a sampler this weekend at Picadilly Beverage Shop in Champaign, IL. Heady, smoky, deep, chewy, thick, oily: all sorts of adjectives just pop into my head. Pours black and viscous. You’d almost think it was brewed exclusively with bitter black malts. Coats my little plastic sampler glass like a film of 10W-30. Exceptional.
