Started on Ratebeer in 2002. Never a huge ticker but have become more interested in trying smaller sample sizes of more beers lately. Current tasting group meets bi-monthly: tfontana, Airforcehops (CLW) and Chalumeaux, occasionally with AdamChandler and Jow. If you're ever in the MA/NH area, reach out! *Disclaimer* I rate N/A beers on a N/A beer scale. Not a scale vs non-N/A beers. So an 8.5 rating of an N/A beer does not mean I think it is equivalent to an 8.5 real beer.

8.9/10 β€” Appearance 9 Aroma 8.5 Flavor 9 Texture 9 Overall 9
Canned 11/7/24, drunk 6/24/25.
Dark, undetermined clarity, with a massive, ashen-cocoa-tan head that is well-retained.
Damn. That smells like an espresso martini in the best way possible. Bourbon rinse with an orange peel wipe and luscious, rich, fruity and roasty coffee. Vanilla and all manner of chocolate, with plentiful malt. Not too sweet and not boozey.
Soft, rich, velvety and comforting in the mouth with just enough malt sweetness and texture, coming just shy of syrupy. Good attenuation, with spicy bourbon matched by rich, fruity and roasty espresso. Super tasteful orange peel with lingering bourbon spice, light oak, lots of vanilla and fruity coffee and chocolatey malts.

8.5/10 β€” Appearance 9 Aroma 8.5 Flavor 8.5 Texture 8 Overall 8.5
Can, undated, from CLW. Thanks, Chris. Drunk 6/24/25.
Clear blonde-golden. Large, rocky, white head settles out at spotty cover.
Herbal nose with grassiness and some spice. Lots of honey-like malts to balance. Pinch of sourdough on the end. Quite hoppy!
Lovely texture, wow! Rich sourdough baguette coated with honey, with a strong, dried herb and grass character from the strong, spicy hops. You could certainly accuse it of being over-hopped, but they're noble hops, so it's pretty endearing. Rich and malty, spicy and clean.

8.3/10 β€” Appearance 8 Aroma 8 Flavor 8.5 Texture 8 Overall 8.5
Canned 5/15/25, purchased at the brewery on 6/14/25 and drunk 6/24/25.
Heavily hazy, muted brass-bronze-maize. Big, fluffy, off-white head, slowly to cover.
Juicy citrus and light tropical fruits from Citra, with a bit of woodiness and mild spice from Amarillo, joined by a bit stronger pine from the El Dorado. The balance ends up pretty spicy in the nose, especially, with a bit of herbal spice that some of us here don't care for...but not me. This is glorious, with lots of honey-like malt and good, clean yeast.
Juicy with citrus and tropical fruit and an undercurrent of woody, amarillo spice. Pine never resinous or overly bitter, while the malt easily balances with a soft, supple texture. Super easy drinking, very flavorful, bright, clean and no alcohol, excess sugar or resin noted.
