Retired American Luddite and refugee of the 2018-2024 Ratebeer/Anheuser-Busch (InBev) fiasco. Thanks Brewver for the chance to continue rating! ....... and yes, I'll soon be a supporter! ........ Since 1968, I've enjoyed all kinds of cheap macro pale lagers, starting with Carling Black Label bottles I found in Grampa Gino's wine cellar! Later, my dad had faves like Old Mil, Strohs, Bud, Coors Light and Piels! They were all good for a budding youngster like me. My ratings aren't to style, but how much I liked it. Thus, my fave styles; lambic, wild & flemish, rate much higher than IPA since I don't like bitter hoppy beers. You like IPA? The lower my IPA rating, the better according to style! There, you have it! Easy peezy, no worries!

Ok, got a cheap bottle of this from chalet. Nose boozy artificial fruit. Eye is darker pale and clear. Taste is boozy as well, come on FD, you just trying to attract tickers? This is so much a alky bomb, I'm not going to comment. No sign of apple vanilla within. Maybe spices, but WTF? I'm just a ticking whore and I think this is addressed to me. There, you have it. Does intended, gets you a quick buzz. At least it was in a bottle. Haven't seen any FD in cans yet.

Ciderboys Imperial Grape from Stevens Point Brewery

Can for 2$ at vintage. Pour is nearly clear pale, small head fades to nuttin. Nose is decently grape, I may even say grapejuice aroma in nature. Taste is very grape soda. Sweet, barely any tartness. Hides the alky quite well until it goes down the throat with a little warming sensation. Better keep this out of the hands of the kids. I'm thinking grape soda with some grain alky in there, hehehehh. Good level of co2 sizzle. Typical sweet ciderboys experience as with most ciderboy ciders. This goes down really easy, but I'm a little worried about the unfermented sugars content. This is the opposite of a dry real cider, LoL.

Loosen Up Lager from Collision Bend Brewing Co.

Nifty can label, considering I do use PB Blaster in the garage to loosen rusted bolts & nuts. Pour is orange brown and clear, nice head fades to a thin blanket. Nose is quite malty and the first taste has lots of personality, maybe more than I can appreciate. Has a rather strong phenolic bitterness that I'm finding difficult to deal with, whew. Thru the middle, that strange 'new brewer' sharpness keeps building. Seems like something went wrong with this baby. Its hard to appreciate the maltiness in this brew with such a pointed bitter bite up front and in yer face. One good thin is it has a high level of carbonation which creates a mild distraction from the rudeness of that bitter bite. Wish it was better but I'm glad the session is over. Blah. Got a long way to go to be as good as Trader José Dark Premium Lager. Probably more on the level of City Brewing William Penn Colonial Style.

Mythology Lager from Hellenic Brewery of Atalanti S.A. - EZA

Green bottler. OK, just came in sweaty from yard work and I am a fan of macro pale lagers so I'm thinken this rating may be biased better than the average pale lager, hehehh. Expecting some skunk on the lid pop, and there is none! Pour is clear pale with some nice streams of continuous co2 rising thru-out the session. Small white head fades rapidly. First big swig is simple refreshing macro pale lager. Good level of co2, but could use more. In the middle, I find this quite refreshing, unlike mythos, this brew does not have any inkling of a pilsner bitter bite; its just simple and civilized. Yes, much better than that mythos; keep in mind, maybe my mythos was a slightly aged bottle, just saying. Before I Knew it, this bottle was gone. Finished with some notes of friendly fresh cut hay and an affable amiable ending.

Head Hunter - Tropical Thunder from Fat Head's Brewery

Can from Vintage. Pour is slight haze on dirty pale. Nice white head stays for a while. Nose is slight perfume covered BO with a diesel back up. Very bitter on the first taste. Bitter on the second gulp and really bitter near the middle. Quite strong and in yer face on the terribly on style bitter blast. Bitterness sticks to yer palate and never lets go. Some some co2 with the taste of old weather beaten real rubber inner tubes, unflavored handsoap combined with pine tar sap and rotting fermenting green grapefruit rinds, all mixed together in a food processor. Mouth coating SOB. I need a fresh clean cold macro pale lager Alpha to chase this down. If you like IPA, put this on yer bucket list.

My can says nothing about the collab with Threes Brewing. Pour is slight haze on pale. Nice white head stays. This brew has a nice constant show of lively continuous carbonation rising. Nose is mildly noble hops. Whew, first taste is more personality than expected. Yes seems o have some pine needles flavor in there. A bit more hoppy than I like. Odd bitterness developing more sharp toward the middle. Almost has a cleaning fluid attitude. Near the finish, getting some weird pine perfume on the olfactory. Ends with an unwelcomed sharp lasting astringent bite. Does not hide alky well, seems like more than 6% to me. Can't pick out the advertised lemon balm in this one.
