Retired American Luddite and refugee of the 2018-2024 Ratebeer/Anheuser-Busch (InBev) fiasco. Thanks Brewver for the chance to continue rating! ....... and yes, I'll soon be a supporter! ........ Since 1968, I've enjoyed all kinds of cheap macro pale lagers, starting with Carling Black Label bottles I found in Grampa Gino's wine cellar! Later, my dad had faves like Old Mil, Strohs, Bud, Coors Light and Piels! They were all good for a budding youngster like me. My ratings aren't to style, but how much I liked it. Thus, my fave styles; lambic, wild & flemish, rate much higher than IPA since I don't like bitter hoppy beers. You like IPA? The lower my IPA rating, the better according to style! There, you have it! Easy peezy, no worries!

From a cheap can this stuff pours like a darker iced tea with an off white foamy head that fades to about half inch.Nose is a malty spice and possibly some honey. First taste is quite boozy; this is gonna be a sipper fer sher. Spices are very present and the combination of heavy spice and boozy sensations makes this quite a clash on the kisser. Very mouth coating and burly. Not sure if I'm getting the cider, but the cinnamon is adding an odd presence. Like the lake erie monster of the south bay area, this stuff is dark, snake-like, and aggressive. Whew. Somewhat typical high alky spice bomb, similar to many domestics of the style. I think I'm catching a little buzz near the end of the session. Phew, gee whiz, golly gosh, good gracious, and whoa! There, you have it. Extra rating point for the mind numbing sensations on the finish, hehehehhh.

Bottle for a couple bucks. Pour is nearly clear, with a off pale color. Very nice head that fades rapidly. Nose is totally big blast of holiday spice. First taste is certainly full of holiday spices but its not as in yer face as many other holiday spice bombs. At first I think its almost got an acceptable, well balanced spiced level; but as I near the middle, that spice thing is starting to rear its head up a little higher. On the label it says citrusy, aint getten none that. Not much for spiced holiday brews but I'm sure they have their place out there in beer drinken society. Also good for a cheap tick as a brewver ticking whore. The variety of beers is the spice of life hehehehh.

Can. Smells like sour apples. Nearly clear pale. Very little, if any head. First taste is full of tartness, comes across like sour apple hardtack glass candy. Quite like a jolly rancher. Yes, I can tell there is some beer in there, deep down inside. But, mostly, this is certainly an apple product. To say this is beer is an almost truth. To say this is cider is an almost truth. Yes, quite a good combination of apple and beer. Yes, not bad, good level of tartness and co2 make this quite enjoyable. No bitterness detected what so ever. Went down way too easy. Good job suacy, much better than yer average fruit beer!

This one dollar can from the singles rack at JR's pours clear pale with a big lasting foamy white head. Nose is strong green grapefruit. From a macro pale lager drinkers point of view, the taste of this is so blasted bitter. Its a rototiller across my tongue ruining my taste buds for an hour or two. The flavor is unpleasant disagreeable disgusting distasteful awful dreadful horrible terrible vile and unnecessarily foul. So yes, it is right on style and if you like IPA, you need to try this, if you did not already. Leaves such a bad medicinal taste in my mouth. Will somebody please get me an ice cold clean fresh non offensive american pale lager for a chaser? A sammy adams american light will do just fine, thank you.

Buck can off clearance rack at JR's. Pour is mostly clear light pale with a big foamy head that lasts for a few minutes. Mildly sweet pleasant pale lager nose, comes across rather fresh. Very clean taste on the first swig, good amount of fresh cut hay in here. Easy going, friendly. Very inoffensive, no ill manners in this at all. Nice clean noble hops attitude, very little hop bitterness, if any at all. To say this was a premium lager, is probably a misnomer; this is certainly more like one of the better tasting american macro pale lagers. JMHO, its styled incorrectly. Really enjoying this session, should have picked up a six pack instead of a single. Refreshing, got to the end of the can before I knew it! Nice job NB, a great session brew. Rarely does a craft brewery make a very good plain old pale lager! Could easily drink a few of these and never get tired of the session. If this pale lager is a premium, one of the best 'premium' lagers I've had in a long time.

Can for a buck off the clearance rack at JRs. Pour is virtually clear pale and it has a staying white large foamy head. Very little noticeable nose, perhaps a slight clean hop perfume aroma? First taste confirms my distaste for IPA; I knew I wouldn't like it because victory is usually dead on style with their brews. But hey, I'm a beer ticking whoremonger and this cheap tick selection is terribly on style. Appalling dreadful explosive bitterness. Horrific bitter bombshell. Awful bitter projectile exploding in the pie hole. An atrocious bitter bundle. Rototilling incendiary IPA hop bitterness plowing across my taste buds. So, form this, if you like IPA, you really need to seek it out. Its certainly an above average IPA grenade. There, you have it.

Found this for 1$ on the clearance rack at JR's, thought I rated this one already. Happy about two things with this can; it aint an IPA and its a lager. Finally, something that may be enjoyable for a change. Not just a brutal cheap beer for a tick. Pour is slightly hazy on light pale, nice foamy white head that stays. Mild perfume fresh noble hops aroma. First taste is not bad, its fairly mild and quite belgian in nature! Yes, there is some mild pilsner bitterness in there but its well balanced and easy to take. Its not a pointed in yer face pilsner bite that is so common with many ruder domestic pilsners. Going down easy, the pilsner bitter bite starts to rise near the middle. Yes, near the end that bitterness rises to a point that I can't ignore. Not bad on the finish, glad I found this one.
