Retired American Luddite and refugee of the 2018-2024 Ratebeer/Anheuser-Busch (InBev) fiasco. Thanks Brewver for the chance to continue rating! ....... and yes, I'll soon be a supporter! ........ Since 1968, I've enjoyed all kinds of cheap macro pale lagers, starting with Carling Black Label bottles I found in Grampa Gino's wine cellar! Later, my dad had faves like Old Mil, Strohs, Bud, Coors Light and Piels! They were all good for a budding youngster like me. My ratings aren't to style, but how much I liked it. Thus, my fave styles; lambic, wild & flemish, rate much higher than IPA since I don't like bitter hoppy beers. You like IPA? The lower my IPA rating, the better according to style! There, you have it! Easy peezy, no worries!

Cheap can from kroger cincinati. Quite dark and clear with a rouge tinge shining thru. Head fades rapidly. Mild holiday combo spice aroma. FYI, I really don't care for these spice medley holiday brews, there aint many out there that I'm attracted to. First big gulp of this is exactly as expected; a winter ale over spiced bomb. Very little carbonation makes this quite mouth coating fer sher. Many ales are difficult enough without trying to cover up those ill ale attributes with cinnamon, clove, nutmeg, and orange peels. Whew, in the middle I think I'm getting some leather on top of the compound. Now also perceiving a little warming sensation from the amalgam. Hoping this mishmash will provide enough brain numbing effect for a positive outcome. Yea, maybe I'm finally getting some calming outcomes near the bottom of the can. Just possibly I'm starting to get used to it? Oh well, back to reality, in the end its just another common domestic miscellany assortment and array of winter spices, added to beer. There you have it.

Cheap can at chalet. Pour is lemon yellow pale and clear. Head fades immediately. Very nice real lemon nose. But hey, the first taste is dull lemon pledge, lemon furniture cleaning polish. A little difficult initially. Very dry and dull. No sweetness to speak of, typical lager fruit beer. Bitter back end in the middle. Quite arduous an challenging for a macro pale lager lover. Lots of ill mannered incivility. Carbonation is OK, but nothing special, could use more. In the end, if the aroma wasn't so good I'd have scored this 2 points lower, blah. Less than average fruit beer. Come on Paladin, you make much better tasting beers than this fruity letdown.

Cheap can from kroger. Pour is big and black, large and in charge. Fast fading choco moose head. Nose is a sweeter roasted thing. First taste is no doubt sweet, but its not as cloying as most pastry stouts. There is more of a roasted stout substrate background in this compared to other pastry bombs. This also has a fine level of soft carbonation that I'm diggen. Some dark chocolate in there. I like this stuff doesn't get cloying, even to the finish. Not bad but not as good as Penn's Sarris Peanut Butter or Croaker's Dismembered Dough Boy. Probably more in like with Cobblehaus Grandma's Special K and Butler's Cold Dark Heart.

On tap at source. Pour is a darker orange brown tint and clear. A mild fresh easy nose. First taste has a bit of unexpected bitterness but its not in yer face. Hey, it a roggy! What else would you expect? There is some biody to this brew. Bitterness builds to the middle. As a pale lager macro lover I'm thinking this style needs a few manners. LoL. On style fer sher and its just as good as any roggy I've had for quite a while like Indigo Fiend, Bullseye Rye Not and Third Eye Gettin Twisted.

Nice dark brown clear dark beer. Mild sweet perfume for a nose, attractive. Easy fresh brown beer taste initially. No real ill ale character on this one, quite civilized. Very well behaved, For a brown ale, I'm liking this. Easy going fer sher. I'm surprised how nice this american brown ale is tasting. Good session. Yea, this is one of the best brown ales I've tasted and as good as East End Fat Gary, Altered Genius Honey Brown and Big Sky Brown. Good job there CT!

Tap at source. Clear pale with a slight amber tint. Some sweetness on the nose. Sweet as well on the first taste but its not cloying nor in yer face. I really can pick out the creamy aspects of this stuff. In the middle, I'm still not getting any orange in there. Decent co2 level throughout. Pretty good for such a flavored beer, I guess something near pastry. In the end I' finally getting some orange sticking its head up.
