Pours hazy yellow with a one finger head. Smells of citrus and some hop resin. The flavor is mildly to moderately bitter with juicy citrus and some pine. I liked their Trail Pass IPA more, but this is better than most NA beer I’ve tried.

Pours clear gold. Smells of mild citrus and caramel malt. It tastes moderately bitter with citrus and caramel. This is quite decent. I like it more than the hazy that I had the same night. Taste is similar to many a session IPA.

Founders does not call this beer a hazy on the label or the description, and it’s filtered, so what is it? I think that’s debatable. There’s no reason a beer couldn’t be made exactly like a New England IPA but filtered, and this is a surprisingly smooth imperial IPA. There’s citrus and a little floral notes in the aroma and flavor. Bitterness is moderate. Solid malt body. I could go either way on style. Perhaps it falls somewhere in between, but anyway, it’s quite enjoyable.

This is a very resinous IPA. Bitterness is pretty high but balanced by heavy malt. It doesn’t blow me away but it works well.

Deep gold pour. Smells like chocolate and vanilla. It tastes sweet and malty. Chocolate and vanilla are there. Minimal roast character. It’s a typical pretend stout in that sense. I’m still not crazy about this style being called a stout of any sort. If you’re going to make a stout, make a stout. This is not that. Anyway, it still tastes fairly good.

Pours near black with a small light tan head. Smells of chocolate mint. The flavor has chocolate front and center with mint apparent but not as strong. It’s not terribly sweet, tasting more like dark chocolate. Roast malt. Nice hops bite in the finish.
