Visited on a Wednesday evening in September 2025. It was fresher's week, and every pub in town was over-run with students enjoying their first taste of freedom (and no doubt regretting it the next morning!). Except for this one. This was a rare haven of tranquility amongst the tumult. Hidden away down a steep, narrow alleyway, it offers 4 cask, 8 keg, and 4 BIAB ciders, all on rotation. About half of them were from local micros on our visit (although only one from Magpie, so maybe the relationship with them mentioned by a previous reviewer has ended?). The rest are from craft brewers across the country. Good indie music was playing, at the right level to allow easy conversation. We relaxed in wingback armchairs and let the stresses of the world drain away - it felt like that sort of place. The barman was friendly enough albeit not overly chatty, the beers were in good nick and the prices were reasonable. I liked it a lot; I'd definitely go back if I was in Nottingham again.

Visited April 2025. Stopped in for a bite to eat (and a beer of course!) mid-afternoon on a Thursday. In appearance it's a bog standard medium-sized 'Spoons. 9 casks on when I visited, with East London brewery as the local option, There's a conservatory and what looked like a pleasant patio garden. Due to the time of our visit it was pretty quiet but the clientele who were there were definitely on the rough side. Service was swift and friendly. It was ok on our visit but maybe not somewhere to visit at the busier times of the week? If you're in the area, then it's worth having a stroll around the nearby Abbey Park cemetery, one of London's "magnificent seven" cemeteries which has reverted to nature and is a lovely, tranquil (if rather spooky) stroll.
