Bottle from Cromford Mills Cheese Shop. New brewery for me. Deep mahogany with middling fizz and a rapidly vanishing head. Chocolate, nuts, malt and treacle, with a hint of stewed plums in the background. Decent flavour, albeit a tad thin. Enjoyed it.

Cask at the Hope Tap (JDW) in decent condition. Chestnut brown with a beige to tan head. Nutty nougat with a little coffee and touch of cream Snickers-esque with a hint of Milky Way. Light bodied but very enjoyable nevertheless.

Cask at the Hope Tap (JDW), served in great condition. A crystal-clear gold brew with a good white head. Fresh zingy lemon and lime is balanced against a little caramel. Fresh, tasty and enjoyable. Good effort from Orkney.

Cask at the Hope Tap (JDW). Dark gold with a white head. Digestive biscuit up front with just a hint of lime - definitely not enough to make you think it's a lime-flavoured beer. Which is a shame, because I like lime. Even more of a shame is that there's a touch of parmesan-flavoured vomit in the finish. Bland and slightly unpleasant - Hogs Back stay firmly on my crap brewer list. Maybe I shouldn't encourage them by buying their beers - I only do so to boost my Surrey rating numbers!

Can from a Beer52 four pack being sold off cheap at Waitrose. Deep gold with a white head. Another one with a far too aggressive and prickly carbonation. Tastes of tangerines and mango and honey and grapefruit. Sweetish with just a little bitterness in the finish. Decent stuff apart from the over-the-top fizz; bet this'd be good on cask!

Can from a Beer52 four pack being sold off cheap at Waitrose. Lightly hazed yellow with a white head. Lots of prickly fizz - far too fizzy for my liking. Nice peachy whiff and initial taste fades into a light grassy finish with a hint of lime. Ok overall apart from the over-the-top carbonation.
