Wetherspoon 2025 Autumn Beer Festival. Ale#21 of 26 untried possibilities at the fest. Clear brown glowing colour with a decent head. Its smooth texture is enjoyed first, but the dark to brown malts are just as palate friendly, mildly bittered and very flavoursome.

Hand pulled third of a pint in my local Spoons on 9th October 2025. Third of 7 festival beers tried on the night. It's Chestnut Brown in colour (who would have thought it?), beige lid. Malty little number with a herbal twist, fairly bitter throughout.

8/10/2025. Cask at wetherspoon beer festival, at Cricketers, Ipswich. Nice pour. Quite a subtle aroma, milky chocolate, cocoa, toffee, nutty edge. Moderate sweetness, mild roasted bitterness. Quite light bodied, smooth, soft carbonation. Likeable, easy drinker, enjoyed it but did lack some body.

Cask at the Hope Tap (JDW) in decent condition. Chestnut brown with a beige to tan head. Nutty nougat with a little coffee and touch of cream Snickers-esque with a hint of Milky Way. Light bodied but very enjoyable nevertheless.

[Cask at the Hope Tap(JDW), Reading.] A chestnut brown pour with a thin beige head and attractive lacing; nutty malt aroma; rather thin in the mouth with a fudgy taste; then a dry earthy finish.

Cask at Chester Station Tap (not yet listed on Brewver). Pours dark chestnut with a small foamy cream head and good lacing. Malts are strong in the aroma which also has honey, fudge and caramel. In the mouth it is fairly sweet but with a somewhat thin texture with malts again prominent plus chestnuts and treacle. Later there are hints of spices, herbs and rye leading to a slightly dry finish. This is decent.
