Can at the Estero Lounge, Monmouth. Clear gold with a white head. Not as fizzy as it initially looked. Initial taste is tinned peach and sugar syrup. It becomes increasingly floral and tastes of pot pourri and room freshener by the end. Not unpleasant, but not great either.

Visited October 2024. Popped in for a quick meal and drinks before a superb Skating Polly gig at the nearby Oslo venue. Was slightly disturbed to see bouncers on the door of a Wetherspoons at 6pm - although frankly, based on the state of some of the lairy clientele inside, the bouncers weren't doing their job properly anyway. The interior design was less interesting than most 'Spoons, and the tables far more crammed in. It was raucous and filthy; when our dinner order was - eventually - unceremoniously dumped on our table by the disinterested staff, all meals were either cold, badly cooked (how do you manage to burn mashed potato?!) or had missing items. Given how long it had taken to get served in the first place, plus the fact we needed to get on to the gig, we didn't bother complaining and just ate what we could, but it's certainly one of the poorest meals I've had in a 'Spoons. The only plus point was that it was beer festival time, and therefore 4 of the 10 cask pumps had fest ales on (3 new to me). The condition of the beer was variable at best though. Overall one of the worst 'Spoons I've been to, but at least I got some new rates I guess.
