This beer took me back to my youth when I used to drink large quantities of fairly low alcohol English milds and bitters. Bottle at home.

Very good beer and wine shop with friendly helpful staff. Good selection of local bottled beers and German beers. Smallish Belgian section. When I went in yesterday I noticed a surprising number of Christmas Ales; left overs from last year rather than in anticipation of Xmas 2026 but I am sure they would still be very drinkable as best before dates on such ales are for legal reasons only and many improve with time in the bottle.

Grand Cru from Brouwerij Hoegaarden was the one that did it!
