22oz bottle pours an inky black, no head, legs. Nose has malt and cocoa and booze. Marzipan. Flavors follow. Some baking spice. A bit thin, hot too. Finish doesn't help.

Sample at Churchkey. Pours a very oily black, opaque, wispy tan head. Legs. Nose is huge with molasses and black licorice and malt, some soy notes, burnt toast. Flavor has plenty of umami, if there is biscotti then I don't get it. All malt and dark stuff. Some dried raisin and dates. Molasses, black licorice, some kirsch. Full bodied, long and boozy. Just don't get a ton of adjuncts. Its fine as is though.

Sample at Churchkey pours a murky orange with some sticky white head. Fresh cream and fresh cut grass came on the initial nose and as it warmed it got dank. A little peach candy, some papaya. Flavor has more of the tropical fruits and the rottiness (is that a word?), big seltzer notes, some mango here, papaya. Finishes has some booziness, spritzy. Feels funny. Kind of a weird one.

Pint at the brewery pours a very murky, dark orange with plenty of lacey white head. Nose is fine... good maybe. Green grass, some tropicals, lychee, savory herbs, a little lime zest. Flavor has some wheat, a little oat, grass, dried and green, some onion, light papaya and tropical sweetness. Medium bodied. Good.
