Poured from 473mL can (bb Mar 12, 2034; thanks Sammy). Near black with medium tan head. Roast malt, oak underlay, smooth and almost slightly subdued, dry-ish cocoa powder underlay. No real faults, but not especially interesting. Decent.

Poured from 330mL bottle (bottle #32621; dated Sept 2023; imported to Netherlands and distributed to Japan, and brought to Canada by Peter from his Xmas Japan trip). Very dark brown with minimal off white head. Subdued iodine and peat from the whisky, thinner bodied, feint roast and toffee malt, a little bit underwhelming.

Poured from 500mL bottle (2024 vintage; bottle 77 of 300). Near black with small beige head. Dark molasses forward with light roast and soft bourbon barrels rounding things out. The focus here is definitely black strap molasses. Not especially complex, but decently made.

Warning: open over a sink! Poured from 750mL bottle. Huge gusher, lost half the bottle. Very dark brown with small beige head. Subdued roast and wood with a hint of brett, no detectable rye whiskey character. Somewhat dry, medium body. Okay as a brett imperial stout, but I don't think that's what they were going for.

Poured from 473mL can (pkg 08/Oct/2025). Cloudy yellow with minimal white head. Citrus and onion hops with some light hop burn, very feint tropical hops in the background, a touch boozy, decent.

Poured from 500mL bottle - side x side x side with Blend II and III. Very dark brown with minimal beige head. Woody bourbon, boozy, some dark molasses underneath. This is the most complex of the three, quite enjoyable.

Poured from 500mL bottle - side x side x side with Blend II and IV. Very dark brown with minimal beige head. The woodiest and booziest of the three, the base also seems to have less complexity despite presumably all being the same base. Hot and a bit thinner, my least favourite of the three. Okay.

Poured from 500mL bottle - side x side x side with Blend III and IV. Very dark brown with minimal beige head. Mild woody bourbon, light booziness, feint chocolate. Quite nice, just under the Heaven Hill barrel in my opinion based on these three.
