A quick look after visiting a number of years ago, nothing really changed. The beer museum was closed (Saturday afternoon mid-Summer - perhaps permanently?).. the bar is right at the top. Nothing exciting selection-wise, standard range of beers you see in every tourist bar. Not really worth the walk up the 3 flights of stairs unless Belgian beer is completely new to you.

As the name suggests this is dedicated to all things Duvel, nicely renovated inside with excellent views over the square. Whether that justifies the 9 euro pricing is up to you - certainly, I've seen higher pricing for Duvel in the UK. All the single hop editions are here, but strangely no special editions.

330ml can from Noz. Fatamorgana was a great beer, this tastes a bit odd.. hazy pale yellow, white head.. awful eggy aroma, very sweet citrussy pineapple with a strange eggy side.. nope something not right here, fermentation issue.

Super Bitter from Birrificio Baladin (Piozzo (CN), Italy 🇮🇹)

330ml can from Baladin Open Garden. Pours an unclear amber, loose bubbly white head. Very confusing.. expected (and wanted) a big hitting bitterness, got a noticeably restrained bitterness and an almost cloying caramel amber tone. Also listed on Untappd as a Belgian dark ale, which it's not. Again, very confused. Marked down for the name, but it's a distinctly average beer anyway.

440ml can from Salopian, the pub i think. Pours a dark colour, good tan collar. Nice roast presence, mingling damson, solid malt body without being too heavy.. decent damson porter.

Small beer shop with some wine as well, eschews most of the range that every other beer shop sells in Bruges for more independent offerings.. some larger bottles carry a hefty price tag, such as a couple of barrel-aged Gulden Draaks. Two BIG stacks of Westvleteren, not a huge selection though in all, certainly not for the space anyway. Saw some dusty old Horal mega blends at the bottom of a shelf not on display, presumably for geeks to find, maybe not?
