Cask at the Victoria Station JDW. Poured a murky orange colour with little life. The aroma is mango, The flavour is moderate to light sour, with a super dry, tart mango, yeasty, spicy hop bitter palate. Medium bodied with soft carbonation. It’s really a mango fruit juice with some alcohol and a few hops. Nice enough, but not a beer I’ll order again.

Cask at the Hare and Billet, Blackheath. Poured a deep orange lucozade colour with little life. The aroma is big mango. The flavour is over moderate sweet, with a smooth, sugary juicy mango palate. Is this even a cider? More like alcoholic mango juice.

Well it’s an ok, Greene King boozer, looking a little tired but maybe that adds to the character. Ten cask ales but nothing interesting and absolutely nothing I’d want on tap. Helpful staff and they have WiFi. Visited on a Tuesday evening and it was quiet. Maybe it would be better at the weekend, but nothing here really that might attract a beer rater.

Cask at the Hare and Billet, Blackheath. Poured a clear medium amber colour with an everlasting frothy white head. The aroma is nutty, malt. The flavour is moderate to light bitter, with a smooth, somewhat light, yeasty, herbal, light hop bitter palate. Medium bodied with soft carbonation.

Draft at the Blackheath brewpub. Poured black in colour with a thin off-white head. The aroma is roasty, light herbal, caramel. The flavour is moderate bitter, with a smooth, earthy, dry, hop bitter palate. Medium bodied with average carbonation.
