I don't really tick much nowadays. Still enjoy a decent beer just as much, along with the community that Ratebeer originally built. I've not moved to that popular app and never will - It's become a monopoly which is having too much influence on today's craft beer scene.

It's really a bit much. Overly sweet and I think something made to appeal to folks that just want to feel the effects rather than enjoy the beer. Not for me.

A nice enough brewpub in the west of the city which is the only true independent at the time of writing. There’s the main bar area with the brew kit in the middle and a pretty lovely roof terrace. Don’t expect the views you get in downtown of course, but do expect something different on the beer front. 5 beers and one cider on tap when I visited, with the stout standing out as a favourite.

gave a cheers!

Bottle from the brewery back at my hotel in Amman. Fairly hazy golden with a small head. Floral hops, grapefruit and light candy in the aroma. When you taste it there’s a big bitterness. Medium bodied and decent for where it’s made, though a little unbalanced.

It’s not a craft beer place, and I didn’t visit it as such. I’m surprised it’s on here. It’s know as the place that was the first Internet cafe in the Middle East, and played a role at the time in the development of Amman’s more liberal social scene. Now it’s a nice cafe, book shop and art shop. Go for what it is, not for beer 🙂
