Something Fantastic is the behemoth of a result – an Oat Cream Triple IPA weighing in above our usual TIPA strength and monstrously hopped with the freshest possible batches of Sabro, Nectaron and Citra – both in its T90 and Lupomax form.
With a dry hop charge of 25g/l, this beer is positively saturated in bright, freshly cut citrus fruit, intense passionfruit and peach, all backed up with coconut and tropical notes. Layered with fresh madagascan vanilla pods and higher than usual oats in the mash, this is a silky, smooth and mega thick TIPA – one for the big festivals and tap takeovers!

440 ml can, as Polly's Something Fantastic Oatcream Triple IPA, from Vinmonopolet, Nettbutikken. ABV is 10.5%. Murky yellow colour, moderate white head, good lacing. Aroma of various tropical fruits, oatmeal and a little citrus. Rich mouthfeel. Sweet flavour with the said elements, also distinct alcohol and notes of lactose, partly balanced by a moderate but noticeable hop bitterness.

440ml can. Murky golden with a large white head. Aroma of milky creamy vanilla ice cream, hops almost drowned out by that. Taste is even more of a vanilla/lactose bomb, very milky/creamy sweetness, with hops flavours taking a backseat, some peachy and coconutty notes and maybe some tropical fruit, almost no bitterness. Full bodied, smooth. And the booze is seriously well hidden.
I mean it's not bad, but with so much lactose and vanilla it doesn't let any of the hops shine, in a style that's all about hops, so definitely losing points there.

Can from The Fuss Club. Nose is vanilla, peach, coconut cream, tropical fruits. Well this is different, quite a creamy coconut vanilla taste, citrus, tropical fruits. Creamy bitter hoppy aftertaste. Interesting.

Can. Hazy orange beer, decent cream colour head. Airy smooth palate, a very mild dryness, decent fine minerally carbonation on the back end. Smooth pale malts, a pleasant creamy sweetness, perhaps slightly over egged but, this does seem like a desert Tipa by overall design. Cooling pine. Mild but persistent hop spice. Nectaron and Sabro combine into a kinda tropical fruits cocktail, which is very pleasant. I had to double check the can to make sure this didn't have vanilla added! Good Citra orange and tangerine balances the overall sweetness to a degree. Finishes fairly airy and the mild hop spice nibble persists. A very mild alcohol warmth in the aftertaste reminds you this 10.5% brew is comfortably in to TIPA territory, no edge case this one! Yeah, a little sideswiped by this brew, my initial thought was too sweet but, then it started to make sense, big style. Love the hop combo.
