Tap at Draught 55, I’m not really drinking this week but didn’t want to miss out on fiddlehead making appearance in city. Fine hazy orange pour and head dissipates quickly. Lovely nose of bright citrus, tropics, grass and funk. Tastes of nectarine, pineapple, plenty of lime, florals, white grape, some funky Brett. Light bodied. Slight sourness at first. Fruity finish. Interesting stuff

Draught at Buk’s Boston, 3/21/17 and again at Lulu’s, 4/23/17.
A moderately hazy, bright goldenrod-brass body shows healthy carbonation and is topped by a firm, good-sized, white head.
Fresh yeast mixes with light honey and biscuit from the malt as the hops add lime zest, dry pineapple and light grapefruit. It’s lightly juicy, but there’s a persistent heavy lime character that I associate with Simcoe (though having had a beer recently without simcoe where i still got it, I’m not sure what to think it is). It’s just, well, aggressive and twangy, though not like full-on pine resin. Otherwise it’s clean and seems well-done with no booziness.
In the mouth it’s lightly juicy with still a firm bitterness and strong carbonation. Good malt/wheat-like texture and a high attenuation. Lots of lime and grapefruit with light pineapple and mango lingering. Clean, fresh and very zesty. I’ve had some that were very mediocre and others that very much surprised me, so the jury’s still out on this one, for me. Need to try more. I will say that it’s a unique VT IPA and not a cookie cutter follow after Alchemist/HF beer, so props for that.

Sampler at the brewery showing cloudy yellow with a finger of clean white foam. The nose shows a moderately intense mix of grapefruit, pineapple, and pine. The palate is gently carbonated and medium bodied. Light flavors of resinous pine ending on a moderately zesty bitterness and juicy grapefruit appearing once again on the linger.
