I don't know why people are being shy on this one. It's a home run. A dense deep tan head with solid lacing and retention on a near black body. The nose leads with punchy fresh ground coffee with earthy hops and some chocolate. The fresh coffee is prominent in the taste profile, but citrus hops really step up to balance it. Touches of buttery toffee, chocolate, nutmeg and lavender add to a superior blend. One of the best Canadian bipa's out there imho.

Black pour, beige head. Aroma is quite roasty, with a nice pine resin nose. Medium bitterness, good roast, coffee and hints if cocoa, with a copious amounts of pine resin hops. Quite nice, a good example of the style.

This black ipa poured a deep black colour with a huge, creamy tan head. Nice lacing. Scents include cocoa, soy sauce and earth. First swig was quite hoppy and burnt. Flavours of soy sauce, coffee and burnt toast most prominent. Finish is quite burnt with light hoppy bitterness lingering.

Pours a dark brown colour with cola highlights. Big frothy warm beige head, long stay and loads of thick, patchy, creamy lacing. Fresh grassy hop nose over chocolate malts. The roasted ones don't show much because of the IPA side of things. They do show in the taste though. That, until the hops grow into the finish. Still, not excessively dry. Mild chocolate notes linger blending with the grassiness. I have to say, this is quite nicely done with the chocolate malts being more assertive than the roasted ones found in this style usually.

Can from the LCBO. Clear dark mahogany under a large fluffy khaki coloured head that hangs around and leaves some patchy lace. Nose is coffee and cocoa, roasted nuts, earth, pine and some grass. Flavour is light sweet molasses with a big coffee, dark chocolate and pine bitterness with a hint of smoke. Mouth is medium+ and slick with soft carbonation and a lingering bitter finish. Good to see another local Black IPA. 8+/4+/8/4/17
