A light-bodied stout with bright hop character

Our Dry Stout is the equivalent of Table Beer within our family of darker beers — modest in strength, full in flavour, and endlessly drinkable. It’s not a traditional “dry stout” by style, but rather a stout that happens to be dry: lean, roasty, and bright, without heaviness.

Brewed with a layered malt bill of Maris Otter, Brown, Black, Chocolate, Dark, Crystal, Carafa, and Oats, it carries notes of toasted grain, dark chocolate, and coffee. Prominent kettle-hopping and a touch of dry-hop lift the finish, adding vibrancy and subtle fruit notes that contrast beautifully with the savoury malt base.

Bottle. Advent box. Almost black. God tier swede. Good earthy leafy spicy hoppage and dark roast malt with a whiff of ashy coffee. Turkish kind of thing. Dry and bitter with a bare flicker of malt sweetness. Clean and almost puckering on the palate. Dry bitter finish. Delivers the goods.

Gorgeous pour - couldn’t look any better. Superb balance, nice ashy roast, citrus accents, a little coffee and cocoa, soft earthy bitterness. Smooth, creamy, bittersweet. Outstanding.

Bottle at home picked up from the Kernel tap room. 4.5% . A opaque black brown coloured pour with a lasting magnolia creamy head. Aroma is dry woody roast, nice warming char, singed pine, sap, bark. Nice. Flavour is composed of semi sweet, woody bark, woody pine, tar, Palate is semi sweet, little thin, moderate mellow carbonation. Nice rich hoppy stout.

330ml bottle. Black, with a big beige head. Aroma of dark chocolate and roast malts. Taste is very chocolatey, roast malts, a touch of citrus with piney finish. Medium bodied. Once again a fantastic low ABV stout from The Kernel. Great stuff.
