A carefully blended homage to the first of this series, released in 2009. Our most cherished bourbon barrels of Dark Apparition and Wood Ya Honey combine to gracefully blur the line between Stout and Strong ale. Notes of roasted sugar, pecan, and fig gently emanate from one of our most treasured blending projects.

The beer pours darkest brown with a medium beige head that recedes slowly. Small patches of lacing on the glass. The aroma has vinous notes along with oak, vanilla and malt. Rich and smooth body with flavors of bourbon, chocolate fudge, walnut and dark fruit. The finish is viscous and malty with a slow bourbon burn. Good beer all around.

2022 500mL, drunk 11/22/23. Dark, clear, looks filtered. Light tan head to ring. Chocolate, big nuttiness, vanilla and rich toffee. Not quite as much brighter bourbon as the Straight Jacket I just had. Low roast, no booze. Lots of caramel and vanilla. More Barleywine than stout here. Soft, chocolatey, minimal roast, some prune, pepper and such. Light bourbon, though not as much clarifying spice, leaving lots of heavy caramel. A bit sweeter, creamier and unspicy than I'd like but certainly interesting.

Big and bold, with equal amounts chocolate and caramel coming from the stout and barleywine, respectively. A tad sweet, but a woody bitterness shores up the back end. Tasty.

Bottle pour, shared at Matt's. Thanks! Dark cola brown pout. Loose foam head. Some intense bran on the nose. Some dark fruit to pair. Flavor has more bran cereal grain, with a gentle but growing honey and milk chocolate. Long and bold grainy finish. Really unique and interesting.

375mL bottle, pours black with a tiny beige head. Aroma is very complex, with lots of bourbon barrels, dark sugars, honey, and caramel malt. Flavour is cohesive, with lots of bourbon barrels, honey, dark sugars, toffee and a little molasses. Really cohesive and complex blend here. Excellent.

Flaska från Bier Bazaar, från 2021? Mörk brunsvart med beige krona. Lakrisal, tjärpastill, Bourbon, mycket fat, toffee, choklad, en lätt honungston. Mer tjärv old school imp stout än wheat wine. Sötman tillbakahållen. Gott.
