A carefully blended homage to the first of this series, released in 2009. Our most cherished bourbon barrels of Dark Apparition and Wood Ya Honey combine to gracefully blur the line between Stout and Strong ale. Notes of roasted sugar, pecan, and fig gently emanate from one of our most treasured blending projects.

Bottle@Himmeriget, Copenhagen - very dark brown black pour with tiny tan head. Sweet and light roasted malty, with some chocolate and caramel, some honey sweetness, bourbon infused wooden character, sweet malty finish.

Sampled from a growler this beer poured a black color with a minimal tan head that faded quickly and left no lacing. The aroma was raisin, rum, vinegar and a touch of coffee. The flavor was tart and bitter rum, raisin, wild yeasts, almost vinegar and a bit boozy. Turns dry, herbal and a bit astringent on the long tart rum and raisin finish. Medium body and a bit oily. Interesting.

Cheers George! Semi opaque very dark brown beer. Short lived brown head. Light palate, moderate carbonation. Woody chocolate and whisky nose. Dark cocoa like chocolate, sourish whisky and unsweet wood. Nicely joined up. The sour whisky is almost fruity. Finishes with a neutral palate and mild warmth. Decent.

Bottle shared by Brad and Art, thanks! Poured a hazy dark amber red with a brown head that lasted throughout the beer. Aroma was full of sweet grains, some raisins, milk chocolate and light fruits. Flavor was similar with sweet grains and raisins with some chocolate and bourbon in the finish. Needed a little something to balance the sweetness.

On draught at the brewpub, served in a snifter. The beer is a dark brown color with a medium beige head that recedes slowly. Stringy lacing on the glass. The aroma has vinous notes along with oak, vanilla and malt. Rich and smooth body with flavors of bourbon, chocolate and dark fruit. The finish is fruity and malty with a slow bourbon burn. Enjoyable from start to finish.
