This special edition of Broken Dream is brewed with our very own bourbon barrel aged coffee. We source the finest green beans, aged them in wet barrels for at least 12 months before roasting in small batches when required. We experimented with the coffee in 'Blacklight Banana' - but this full batch of Broken Dream really allows the flavour to shine through.

Bottle from Etre. Opaque black with tan head. Strong aroma of cold pressed coffee, cream, light vanilla. Sweet vanilla and coffee taste with cream and oak. Thick, sweet and smooth.

330ml bottle from Brewdog.com. BBE 060118. Pours dark brown, almost black with a smooth light brown head. Aroma of roasty malts, loads of coffee, chocolate, espresso, mocha, hints of vanilla and bourbony notes, earthiness and oak. Taste is smooth, slick and roasty with loads of coffee, hints of oak, wood, vanilla, mocha and bourbony sweetness. Finish is smooth and slightly roasty with loads of smooth coffee notes, oak, vanilla and bourbon, hints of age (vegetable notes) as it warms up. Pretty nice coffee stout with a touch of vanilla and bourbony notes.

Bottle shared. Black with a medium beige head. Aroma of massive but soft coffee, espresso, bourbon, oak barrel, vanilla, chocolate and toffee. Flavour is heavy sweet and moderate bitter. Above medium bodied with soft carbonation. Absolutely amazing for the ABV!

Black body, with a small, fluffy, fizzy, dark beige head.
Aroma of fresh coffee, wood, tobacco, cocoa powder, some dark fruits, some liquorice, subtle bourbon.
Tastes quite similar, but a bit lighter, with some more vanilla.
Medium, slick mouthfeel, with an average carbonation.
Finishes medium roasty, a bit dry, a bit sweet, wooden, with lots of coffee again, cocoa, tobacco.
Very nice. Lots of lovely coffee, with a great balance between roasty and sweet notes, although I don’t get much of the bourbon. Overall a bit simple maybe, while still really quaffable, drinks suprisingly easy.

Bottle @ Van Moll Brewpub. Opaque pitch black color, medium to full sized light brown colored head that lasts for a decent while. Aroma is malts, coffee. Taste malts, coffee, a little dusty initially, sweetish and bitter simultaneously with a load of coffee in the finish as well. Medium body, soft carbonation.

0,33l bottle at home. BB 04.01.2018. black color, rather small dark coffee-colored head. smells of bourbon, vanilla, chlorophyl / herbal, earthy, light ash, coffee, some chocolate. nice smell. full body, soft carbonation, slick mouthfeel. tastes of caramel, spices, peppery, earthy, licorice, vanilla, light bourbon, chlorohpyl, some coffee, bitter chocolate. finishes lightly roasty bitter with notes of caramel, vanilla and some peppery notes. nice one but balance is off somewhat. A bit on the green herbal / peppery side. Overall still nicely drinkable.

330ml bottle. Pours black with a one-finger tan head. Aroma: coffee, bourbon, chocolate, roasted malt. Taste: sweet chocolate malt, bourbon, coffee, roasted malts, dark fruit, light bitter finish. Medium body, smooth velvety mouthfeel, soft carbonation. Nice stout... drank side by side with the original version and I felt this one was an improvement over the original, a bit more complexity and the balance of bourbon, coffee, and the original flavours is just right.

Bottle, 330 ml, courtesy of Max. Shared with him and JFK10000. Pours brown with light brownish head. Roasted, malty, chocolate, coffee, moderate sweetness. Light to medium bodied. Great coffee aroma, but quite thin.
