Third, served from tap in a fine drinking temperature at the brewpub. Decent tan-coloured head blanketing the glass. Jet black body. Roasted aroma of coffee beans. Wood, ash, dark chocolate and coffee to the taste buds. Roasted bitterness to the ending. Fine bodied. Good drinking (Holbeck Leeds 07.07.2015).

Cask at Craft Beer Co, Covent Garden on 21st June 2015. Sepia black with thin pale brown foam. Rich roasty aroma with nuttiness. Coffee, dark chocolate and a hint of sweet cherry harmonise in-mouth, with a lush chocolate and cherry finish. Full-bodied with a smooth mouthfeel.

Keg at CBC Holborn, 20/04/15. Light black with a decent tan covering. Nose is coffee, roast, toffee fudge, cocoa powder. Taste comprises coffee cake icing, sweet licks, chocolate, coffee cake, light roasted medley. Medium bodied, fine carbonation, semi drying close. Decent coffee porter if a touch sweet, would have preferred a little more roastiness to balance it out.

(Cask at Craft Beer Co Islington, London, 30 Nov 2014) Black colour with foamy, beige head. Malty, roasted nose with notes of freshly ground coffee, roasted malt and chocolate. Malty, roasted taste with loads of coffee, chocolate, dark bread and a generous coffee bitterness in the finish. Medium body, with a certain sweetness. Loads of fresh coffee, possibly a bit one-dimensional, but for me this works fine. Nice one.

Keg at Evening Star, Brighton. It pours near black with a decent tan head. The nose is roasted malt, freshly ground coffee, chocolate, mocha and a touch of spice. The taste is bitter-sweet, earthy roast, dark fruits, coffee, milk chocolate, toasty brown sugar, touch of tangy malts and some liquorice with a dry, roasty finish. Medium body and moderate carbonation. Smooth and well rounded. Nice stuff.

Craft Islington. Cask. Opaque dark brown beer, few pale tan bubbles not being a head. Palate is smooth and slightly viscous. Just modest fine carbonation. Tangy dark malts. Mild earthy coffee. Finishes tangy and dry. Rich but the tang and dryness start to grate.
