Bottle from Village Beer Merchant. Coffee, chocolate, peanut butter, roasted malts. It's all there, but not quite a balanced composition.

All the synthetics from sweet baby Jesus are destroyed by coffee ground stuffs. Bitter coffee kills the synthetics! Ehhhhh.

Seems like the only thing Duclaw can do right these days is Baby Jesus spinoffs. Peanut butter and coffee. Lots of roast. Well integrated stuff. Pours black with good head and lacing. Bittersweet finish. Tap at airport.

Bottle, cold. Pour is darker coffee, aroma is sweet chocolatey and maybe mild PB. Alabaster head. Taste is big strong sweet smooth mouth coating bitter bullshit. Its 6% but it feels like 7+. I can't remember the original version, so I cant tell if the coffee makes any difference, mostly dark baking chocolate bitter. Quite an impact, yet not impressed, a little too over the top for this cheap lager lover.

Deep brown/black with a creamy off-white head. Nutty, sweet malt, chocolate, mild coffee, earth. Medium body. Sweet, nutty finish. I was a little surprised at how light the coffee was. Still, solid PB porter.

Well, this is a good beer in terms of how its built, but I'm just not sure its for me. The nose was really nice, first chocolate, then coffee, and then a hint of peanut butter. But despite how "nice" that was, is that what I want my beer to smell like? Then in the taste, much drier than expected, with soft malt, and very heavy on the peanut butter flavors, with just a wee hint of coffee and chocolate in the background (more chocolate than coffee). Light bitterness at finish, semi-dry. It all blends well, and doesn't taste bad at all, but again, do I want these flavors in a beer? I don't think I do. As with all my ratings, my score reflects my own personal feeling about the beer, not to any style, and should be thought of as reflecting the likelihood I would ever drink this again.

Really nice beer, the coffee and peanut butter are both medium in strength, smooth drinking great beer. Slightly too bitter for the style perhaps. 2017 advent cal.

Bottle: Black with a short tan head. Strong peanut husk, chocolate aroma. Taste is earthy, bitter, peanut shell, coffee. Very roasty.....almost ashy. Nicely robust and bitter.
