Super dark and rich deep brown coloured body with a thinnish, single centimetre tall, oily deep brown head that fades pretty quickly above the rich, almost black note, but the brown comes through at probably around 90 per cent opaque - very deep, rich, dark and opaque. Aroma of rich spices with allspice, aniseed, canella, nutmeg, star anise and a dash of licorice and molasses here - this is rich, at least in the nose and the sugars shine through as well. Full-bodied; Rich roasted malts, oatmeal and grain pop through and around everything else with a deep richness of molasses, grain and pungent spices with a light dash of allspice and canella here, with some bitterness on the outside with a dry and almost herbal element, with a big earthy and rustic quality with a light dose of sugars towards the end. Aftertaste is pungent and showing some spices with a lot of toffee, oatmeal and bitterness from the malts, with some alcohol shining through as well. Overall, a very nice, but rich, pure stout with a lot of spice and sweet components that hits nicely, especially when it's cold outside - much more so in the great state of Michigan compared to this state of Florida! Still, great to try all the way down here given that I've never had it in my home state of Michigan, but did find it on sale down here on vacation in Florida! I sampled this twelve ounce bottle, purchased yesterday from Knightly Spirits in Orlando (Orange Blossom Trail), Florida on 04-November-2021 for US$2,84 sampled a day later in my hotel room here in Lake Buena Vista, Florida after exploring EPCOT Center for the day for my son's fourth birthday on 05-November-2021.

Bottle. Pours the darkest black color I've ever seen in a beer. Dark brown head dissapeared instantly. No lacing. Aroma of dark coffee grounds. Strong dark coffee flavor dominates throughout. Thin body for the style. One dimensional, and not my flavor profile. At least the 7.5% ABV is well hidden. Tick.

12 oz bottle. Pours black with a tan head. Sweet cocoa, roasty coffee, and vanilla aroma. Flavor is slightly syrupy cocoa, with roasty coffee cutting the sweetness, and some suggestions of vanilla and smokiness complementing the flavors. Quite nice.

Solid sweet stout, not decadent but still offering up enough chocolate and vanilla to accentuate the deep roasted java vein. Coffee hits strong and hard, and the smoky backbone adds a solid base to offset any cloy notes. Firm, bitter java finish leads to a lengthy deep black stout fade. Amazing roasted chocolate nose. Tasty brew.

Bottle. Essentially black body, medium to thin ochre dissipating head. Nice rich nose dominated by roasted coffee with a complement of burnt sweet sugars. Inky body, a big punch of bitter roasted coffee moderated by tart-sweet lactose. Long bitter charred and tart finish. Very nice stout.

Sampled on draft this beer poured a black color with a medium sized foamy brown head that left decent lacing. The aroma was roasty and toasty malts with vanilla cream. The flavor was toasty and sweetish with lactose and malted milk. Long finish. Moderately full bodied and creamy. Ok.
