Weavers Point is part of a pair of IPAs within our IPA project. Following on from two of our favourite beers from last year, The Bell Rock pair, we wanted to brew two IPAs with the difference being a higher ABV and more hops in one of the beers.
Weavers point is the big brother of this mighty fine pair. It has lots more hops in the kettle and an extra dose of dry hopping on the end, with a higher ABV to boot.
Weavers Point is a lighthouse located on the coast of North Uist.
Hops: Perle, Appolo, Chinook, Simcoe
Malt: Maris Otter Extra Pale Malt, Torrified Wheat

Cask at CBC St. Giles - London. Nice beer, moderately jammy citrus character, some mineral dryness. Light dry pine bitterness. Medium bodied with fine carbonation. Finishes with further citrus fruits, dry pale malts, light piney bitterness. Good one.

Cask at The Hanging Bat. Clear golden body with a thin white head. Excellent lacing. Aroma of kiwi fruit, grapefruit and pineapple. Flavour is very green - lime, fresh hops, grass and a hint of underripe banana. Faint alcohol burn and peppery spice. Medium body with an oily texture. Flat carbonation. Very hoppy, nice.

Cask at Craft Beer Co, Covent Garden on 21st May 2014. Hazy gold with white head of loose foam. Exquisitely hoppy aroma with fine, rich and intense fresh grapefruit, as enjoyable on its own as the beer itself. Liquid is richly hoppy with intense grass and grapefruit; bitterness developing leading to a satisfying grassy bitter finish. An excellent IPA.

Cask at Craft Covent Garden, 23/05/14. Clear golden with a well appointed off white head that retains well. Nose is orange pith, apricot jam, bread dough, light mango, straw. Taste comprises citric pithdom, grassy tones, light cheese, mandarin. Medium bodied, moderate carbonation, fairly drying close with grassy hop bitterness. Ok cask IPA, a little too much cheese in the flavour profile lets this one down for me.

Cask at Craft Beer Co, Covent Garden. It pours pale gold with a medium white head. The nose is earthy, barnyard, straw, citrus, hay and peppery notes. The taste is bitter, straw, resin, hay, barnyard, raw bitterness, pine needles, peppery and citrus peel with a dry, bitter finish. Medium body, fine carb and oily mouth-feel. Nice level of bitterness, but a bit raw. Decent anyhow.
