Our citrusy and refreshing Berliner Weisse is a modern take on a true Berlin classic. Brewed using the same traditional lactic acid cultures as the Berlin brewers of the 1920's, our Berliner Weisse is a bright and sparkling thirst-quencher. The beer embodies the liveliness of summer with the fruity tang of lemon and melon, further complimented by the tartness of rhubarb and gooseberries. To ensure a properly Stone (and therefore iconoclastic) Berliner Weisse, we upped the ABV to a healthy 4.7% and hopped the beer with new German varieties, Huell Melon and Callista.

Sampled from a can this beer poured a yellow-gold color with an enormous fluffy yellow-white head that lingered and left good lacing. The aroma was musty and yeasty with tart lemon. The flavor was tart, lactic, citric and yeasty. Long finish. Medium body.

0.33l can. Murky yellow body with a moderate white head. Lemon juice and yoghurt dominates, but it has notes of peach and some melons too. Very refreshing brew. Nice one.

330 ml can, from Coop Extra Sauda. ABV is 4.7%. Hazy and very pale straw colour, large white head. Aroma of lactic acid and dried apricots. Very sour flavour, loads of lactic acid, notes of dried and sour apricots, also lemons. Not my cup of tea.

Keg @ Common, Manchester. Hazy light golden with next to no head. Quite hoppy with a light tarty sourness.

A hazed blonde Weisse with a thin lacing white head. In aroma, sweet fruity malt with light lemon notes, lactic acid, Epsom salts, nice. In mouth, a nice classic fruity malt with loads of lemon pulp, Epsom salts, light and refreshing. On tap at Maxfield, Potsdam, NY.

Lime and some passion fruit. Pours golden with good head and lacing. Tangy finish. Yeasty, and definitely on point like real Berliners. Tap at Stone in Richmond.
