Gold Yellow, Big Head, Decent Lacing. Not much of aroma. Sweet, Malt, Syrupy, slight Alcohol Burn. Medium Body, well hidden ABV. Smoother and easier to drink than expected. Drinkable, OK for what it is but no sentimental value for Zhiguly. Pass it.

Bottle from Big Star in Seattle. Pours brassy gold with a small white head. Aroma is sweetly bready, lightly fruity, perhaps a bit grassy. Flavor is bready, corny, grassy. It’s more sweet than not. Difficult to integrate into my perception.

Half-litre bottle from Michael’s Fresh market, Downers Grove. Yes, that’s what the importer’s English back label says: "The most heating and famous beer…" Guess that the opposite of being "frost brewed." Yellow beer pour in glass, nice thick layer of white foam. Smell is lots of alcohol and solvent, though. Taste matches, with fermented corn syrup, solvents, and sweeteners. Rather obviously made just for getting hammered. Slight notes of spearmint, or is that Vicks Vapo Rub? I find little in the way of malts, just a slight off-setting hop bitterness.
