Sample at Haandfest 2019. Unclear deep pink/purple body with a small off-white head. Aroma has cherry, lactose and vanilla. Flavor is sweet and sour with cherry (I know it’s supposed to be blackberries, but I only taste cherry), acid, lactose, vanilla and ripe berries. Nice body and aftertaste in the same direction. Not to strong on the fruit/berries flavor and even with quite much lacto it is not out of balanced. A bit silly but not bad, mixed emotions here. Nice for a small glass.

Can. An almost clear reddish amber colored beer with a small offwhite head. Vanilla, orange zest notes, dark berries and a light milky sourness in the aroma. It's medium bodied, dry and nicely carbonated. Some dough and lemon in the flavor, with fruitiness, vanilla and berries, all lasting for a good while. Lasting fruity finish with a good vanilla dash. 191214

Redish with a white head - Fruity aroma - Malt body with a good fruity berry flavour that has nice tartness - The berry flavour with some wood notes goes into a tart finish - This was good

Can @ monthly tasting, Chez Sophie, June 19. Praise be to Simon for bringing this back from the big apple! Pours a deep hazed pink, pinkish white head. Fruity nose. Super strong tang on the palate, some nestled blackberry, lactose hints.. interesting but needs a little more vanilla and lactose, and has a raw woody bitterness that's a little off-putting. But otherwise a decent effort.

11th June 2019; Shrewsbury Beer Exchange meeting in Chez Sophie, cheers Simon for the US Pint can that you brought back from New York for us to share. Deep, dark red body (misty), light pink head. If sour red berries are your thing, then this is the Berliner Weisse for you. If like me it's not your thing; leave it on the shelf. Scored objectively.
