12 oz. can. Pours a clear gold color with a white head and good retention. Spotty lacing. Piney hops aroma. Very hoppy flavor to match, but not as biting bitter as I expected. At least the 6.8% ABV is well hidden. Another tick.

12 ounce can into tulip glass, canned on 3/2/2018. Pours fairly hazy/cloudy golden amber/light orange color with a 1 finger fairly dense and rocky off white head with great retention, that reduces to a small cap that lingers. Nice spotty soapy lacing clings on the glass, with a fair amount of streaming carbonation. Aromas of big grapefruit, tangerine, peach, apricot, pineapple, mango, citrus peel/rind, peppercorn, mint, pine, caramel, brown sugar, toasted biscuit, herbal, and floral/grassy earthiness. Nice aromas with good balance and complexity of citrus/fruity/earthy hops and dark/bready malt notes; with great strength. A bit muddy and not as vibrant on hops in the aromas. Taste of big grapefruit, tangerine, peach, apricot, pineapple, mango, citrus peel/rind, peppercorn, mint, pine, caramel, brown sugar, toasted biscuit, herbal, and floral/grassy earthiness. Moderate pine, citrus rind, herbal, grassy, peppery bitterness on the finish. Lingering notes of grapefruit, tangerine, peach, apricot, pineapple, mango, citrus peel/rind, peppercorn, mint, pine, caramel, brown sugar, toasted biscuit, and herbal/floral/grassy earthiness on the finish for a while. Very nice complexity, robustness, and balance of citrus/fruity/earthy hops and dark/bready malt flavors; with a great malt/bitterness balance; and zero astringent hop flavors after the finish. Light-moderate increasing dryness from bitterness. Medium carbonation and medium-plus body; with a very smooth, moderately creamy/bready, and sticky/resinous/rindy balanced mouthfeel that is nice. Zero warming alcohol for 6.8%. Overall this is a very good IPA. All around nice complexity, robustness, and balance of citrus/fruity/earthy hops and dark/bready malt flavors; very smooth and easy to drink with the modestly bitter/drying finish, not overly aggressive. Feels like Chinook, Columbus, Centennial, and probably Amarillo. Classic hop profile. Very dank and earthy hops; sizable malt backbone, but not too sweet with adequate lingering resin dryness. A very enjoyable and well made offering.

Very good IPA, a nice homage to my beloved Alesmith IPA, a pine-laden mix of tangerine, grapefruit, earth, and grass, all set against grainy semisweet malts and a pervading, persistent bitterness. West Coast as hell (no haze in sight, probably why it rates so low) and proud of it. Nice.
