From tap at BeerTemple, Amsterdam. Massively sweet with an aroma of molasses, brown sugar, rum, raisins, brown malt, some booze and lots of syrup. Boy, this is really sweet and sticky. Body is full, mildly boozy. I like the rum barrel influence but the sweetness is too much for my taste.

Sample at the Funkatorium. Pitch black pour with a medium thick tan head that diminishes gradually to a dense film. Patches of lacing on the glass. Aroma of roasted malt, rum, dark fruit and fruit. Full-bodied with flavors of charred malt, rum raisin, anise and chocolate. The finish is oaky rum, dark fruit and malt. Very good all around.

(Draught at Beer Temple, Amsterdam, 13 Feb 2019) Black colour with brief, beige head. Malty, roasted nose with coffee, rum, oak wood, dark chocolate and roasted nuts. Malty, roasted, sweet taste with notes of sweet espresso, rum, oak wood, dark chocolate, raisins, treacle and a balanced coffee bitterness. Full body, very sweet. Really tasty and powerful, but a touch too sweet. Still, nice one.

500 ml bottle shared by Adamchandler, bro much thanks! Aroma is subtle dark rum, mild anise, light chocolate. Full bodied, rich and complex on the palate, slightly spicy rum. This is 16 % , no way ?!? The Brett is not really noticed. Somehow it must balance this stout because it is sweet without being cloying. This is pretty awesome!

Bottle thanks to Kurt! Pours opaque black, small beige head, dissipates quickly, some lacing. Aroma is rummy indeed, but well integrated with chocolate, vanilla, oak and dark sugars, giving more of a winter warmer type impression. Flavor is quite sweet, light plus bitter, dessert decadent. Full body, creamy mouthfeel. Some ABV heat, but not really showing the full 16% that it packs. I am generally not a huge fan of Rum BA beers, but this one is done well. Not really any overt signs of the Brett fermentation on the final product.

Shared 500ml bottle, purchased November 2016 at the Funkatorium. Pours almost black with a tan head. Aroma of rum and chocolate. Taste is rum, booze, chocolate, loads of brown sugar. I’m not a fan of rum, really boozy beers, or super-sweet beers. And this beer had one of the most cloying, boozy finishes I’ve rated thus far. Did not detect any Brett. Very disappointing. Did not finish.

November 2016 on tap at the brewery: Pitch black. 2 finger coffee colored dense head. Smells like a more roast forward BCS, a drier Damon and a more boozy KBS. The flavor though is straight up baby Black Tuesday. It even has this amazing licorice chocolate syrup flavor that’s insanely sweet and really amazing. I’d love a case to age. Do they bottle this? grabbed a few bottles. YAY!
