Lord Grey is a refreshingly balanced 5% sour ale with Earl Grey tea. Herbal flavors abound up front with a subtle bergamot orange in the background, finishing crisp and mildly tart.

Taster at the Lincoln Fill Station. Pours a clear, straw color, with a small, white head. The aroma is light lemon, black tea, light vanilla, and lime. Sweet and sugary, with a citrusy bitterness. Light and clean. Fun and solid.

On tap at the brewery. Cloudy golden with small white head. Very nice. Zesty, lemon with a tea twist. Refreshing. Moderate sourness. Light to medium bodied.

Sour and earl gray tea floral aroma. Taste is a nice combination of tea and sour beer with the earl grey flavorings

Fairly hazy golden coloured body with a light peach and orange coloured tint with a faint off-white head that fades immediately after pouring. Aroma of soured grapes, lemons with a lot of brett notes, some dry malt and grain and then showing a good deal of earl grey tea leaves (not brewed tea) with a distinct lavender and almost bergamotey scent as well with some lemons in the nose. Light-bodied; Sharp lemon and brett flavours dominate with some sour and tart elements throughout, but the earl grey tea notes are vibrant and up front and show well, if very elegantly and lightly, on top of some smooth and dry malts. Aftertaste shows some softer and very subdued tart and soured elmeents from the lemons and fruits, but a lot of bretty funkiness going on from the yeast and mild wheat side of the house as well, but at the very end, is the tea and deep notes that are noticeable but hit so softly, that you wouldn't even expect them. Overall, a very understated and eclectic beer that shows very well, if you already know what to look for here, but otherwise, it's so mild and soft that it's hard to pick up on the tea leaves and the light malt components. That said, it is a good beer, perhaps, because of the softness and mild character, but full-of-flavour that this beer happens to be. I sampled this twelve ounce can, purchased from Hop City, at the Krog Street Market in Atlanta, Georgia on 30-May-2018 for US$1,99 sampled at home in Washington on 18-February-2020 on an unusually warm [winter] day here in town.

Unique, and definitely heavy on the bergamot spiciness, with a soapy floral undertone backed up by strong notes of lemon tartness, bready yeast, and lavender. Not sure I'm totally on board with melding of lacto and Earl Grey, especially when my burps remind me of a sachet from my grandma's house, but at least I admire the experimentation.

Draft at the source courtesy of Joran, thank you sir! Hazy golden yellow color, white head. Lightly earthy aroma. Tea is evident in the flavor, earthy and lightly tart. Nice.
