Deep brown with a tan head. Toasted malts, a bit of earth, caramel is intense. Full bodied. Finish is sweet and caramel with toasted notes. What the crap is this? Not a Baltic Porter. Woof.

$3.57 at Appalachian. Buried in the oh shit fridge downstairs, 4+ weeks since the hurricane, still using clear Solo cups till we get some potent potable. Clear, dark ruby russet brown pour with a frothy cookie dough head. Acidy roast, pyment sort of honeyed dark grape nose, sweeter cola note & a twinge of licorice. Sticky malt, somewhat charred & maple-y. Wannabe caramelized raisin essence, cream, semi-sweet. Noble-ish bitter middle & lingering burnt raisin acidity & bite. Licorice, banana dunkel adjacent. Some cereal comes in near the back & stick around with the sharp roast. Super tasty. Frothy & creamy at first, turning sharper, with a hearty mid-end roast to push the now streamlined body. Solid warmth, it punches a little stronger than what's listed. Body is thinner, but the taste reminds me of some Russian porters I used to love. Excellent.

(Tap) clear, bright reddish amber colour with a medium tall beige head; aroma of brown sugar, then cake; slightly creamy palate; balanced flavour with a long, light bitter finish. Rather subdued and uninspired for the style.

Draft at the source. Hazy deep maroon color, beige head. Aroma of toffee and dark fruit. Taste has more toffee, light roast. Decent.

Sample in a flight at the OMB biergarten. Dark, opaque brown, with a small, dense beige head. Nose is milk chocolate, light anise, oak, vanilla, and black pepper. Very sweet, with a nice hop bitterness that balances the malt well. Medium to heavy body, creamy, and thick. Overall, this is a quality porter; well made and delicious.

Draft - Dark fruit and raisin. Jet black with a decent beige head. Dark sweet and fruity. Not like a Baltic, more like dubbel.

A dark brown porter with a ton mocha head. In aroma, sweet fruity caramel malt with light chocolate , dark fruits, pleasant. In mouth, a sweet mix of dark plums and chocolate with light vanilla, light chalky note, OK. On tap at brewery.

Draft at the brewpub. Pours clear, red-amber with a creamy, tan head. Rich toffee in the nose with hefty ripe fruits, especially figs. Medium sweet flavor with toasted bread, dates, more toffee. Medium to full bodied with average carbonation. Moderately sweet to finish with more toasted bread, rich toffee, some dried cherries. Good stuff.
