Hops, hops and more hops, although this is not just another one dimensional ‘lupin fest’. Cara, Munich and Rye Crystal malts provide a robust base for this punchy American West Coast IPA style beer.

Large loose white head on a still clear amber coloured body.
Resinous & malt aroma.
Medium bodied, lively over the tongue with a sticky back
Pine, resin, berry & grapefruit tastes with a malt backbone & bitterly hopped finish.
Nice Ale.

Almost clear amber beer, small bubbly pale cream colour head. Palate is light, semi dry and has a decent fine minerally crispness. Smooth malts, a light creamy sweetness. Whisper of caramel. The quartet of US hops bring a smooth pine and a decent blend of modesty bright citrus and mellow citrus peel. Trace of tropical fruits. Light finish. There was a very vague whiff of esters at one point but nothing that bothered me again. A pretty crushable beer and unusually good for Tring!

[Cask at the Back of Beyond (JDW), Reading.] An amber pour with a thin beige head; grainy aroma; sweet grainy taste with some caramel and lots of hops adding a dry spicy bitterness; and a lasting bitter finish. A nicely made pale ale.

500ml bottle [courtesy of Grumbo - cheers Graham!]. Clear, faint amber colour with average, frothy to creamy, moderately lasting, minimally lacing, white head. Citrusy, grassy, hoppy aroma, notes of lemon, hints of lemongrass, a touch of lime, some pine, malty background with a touch of peanut. Taste is citrusy hoppy, slightly herbal and grassy, minimally piney, notes of orange, lemon, a touch of lime and lemongrass, light, minmally sweet, pale and caramel malty basis with a touch of peanut. Oily-watery texture, smooth and soft palate. Very nice.
