We first released Yolk a little over a year ago, and you all loved it as much as we did!

With that in mind, we turned it up a notch and gave it a DDH treatment, increasing the intensity and saturation of flavour even further with the fresh harvest Eggers Special & Riwaka.

If you loved Yolk, then you'll love this even more!

Intense with lots of passionfruit and red grapefruit, melon and papaya, gooseberry, some nice savoury hop spice bite coming in, oat infused dense soft creamy malty backbone, robust hoppy finish. Lovely.

Big nelson or riwaka, one of those. Pours hazy yellow with good head and lacing. Candied apple and caramel in the finish but not too much. Good stuff. Snally.

440ml can. Murky yellow with a white head. Aroma of gooseberry, tropical fruits, pine, with a hint of Riwaka savoury weirdness. Taste is full on juice, tropical, mango, grapefruit, pineapple, mandarin, goosberries, and some piney resin bitterness at the end. Full bodied. Great DIPA. Seems I rated the original Yolk higher though!

Can. Hazy orange gold beer, small pale cream colour head. Fairly light palate, fairly dry, good fine minerally carbonation. Hop spice starts to bite even before the I got a handle on the light bodied pale malts, which being a decent creamy sweetness. So, Riwaka and it's weird genetic relative! Crisp cooling pine, a fair amount of savoury skunk. Lots of hop spice, loads! Underneath that avalanche of green hop, there are some Riwaka exotics and a touch of yellow grapefruit. Maybe a trace of blueberry. To be honest, it's hard to pull out much hop character with the green hop onslaught. Like trying to listen to early Joni Mitchell in a hurricane! It's a fairly ferocious dipa but, I can't help but think that this great hop great idea has been somewhat squandered in the aggressive nature of the end product. If you have a can of this, I would actually leave it a month and hope that it ripens and softens a bit. But, if you like chowing down on raw hops, get right to it!
