A rich aroma of hops and malt develops a full texture in the mouth. It has a long, deep, bitter-sweet finish. Without doubt an exceptional best bitter.

Ingredients: Maris Otter pale malt. Challenger and East Kent Goldings hops.

50 cL bottle. Pours clear and golden orange with a nice off-white and creamy head. Aroma is vague butterish and caramelish/toffeeish malty. Light sweet malt base with a light herbal hoppy note from back of the tongue. Subdued fruity note. Ends lingering herbal hoppy and into a dry finish.

Smells of honey and a little bit of malt, a nice and sweet aroma. Looks great, though the head could be larger, but that could just be the style. Not sure if I like the taste - it’s overpowered by a strong bitter roasted barley over the sweeter malts and that creates a kind of bitterness in an English bitter that I can’t say I’m entirely fond of. Nonetheless it’s a respectable bitter and still pretty darned good.

Bottled (BB 06/2008)
Dark amber color, small off-white head. Nutty hops and dried fruits in the nose. There is also woody or cardboardish hints. A bit caramelly, nutty hoppy, toasted malty ESB. Finish is short with hints of cognac or punsch. Caramelly, quite weak aftertaste.

Bottled. Amber colour, mediumsized white head. Aroma is caramel, hops, malts and some mild sweetness. Flavour is grassy, caramelly and slightly of vegetables. Lovely aroma, but flavour was a slight disappointment.
