Level 42 Bottleshare. Thanks to Leighton. Almost clear brown beer, thin pale tan head. Soft smooth palate. Soft dark malts, dry. Spice. Fruity bourbon and vanilla. Modest dark chocolate. Mild coffee. Spicy boozy finish. Rich and well integrated but not outstanding.

Bottle care of Leighton. It pours darkest brown with a small tan head. The aroma is rich, bitter - sweet, big vanilla, toasted coconut, bourbon, cocoa, bounty bar and dried fruits. The taste is smooth, rich roasted malt, chilli spice, vanilla, bourbon, toasted coconut, dried fruit, unctuous, toffee, icing sugar with a rich, sweet, warming finish. Full body, fine carbonation and oily mouth - feel. A bit full - on and sweet, but overall decent.

Bottle split at Level 42, thanks to LKS, 16/08/16. Extremely dark mahogany brown with a decent beige head. Nose is coffee grinds, spice, light charr, tofeee, cocoa powder, fruit esters. Taste comprises coffee, toffee, caramel, sweet stewed fruits, charr, roast. Full body, fine carbonation, light peppery spice and a rising boost in the close. Decent enough impy but not top draw.

Bottle shared in London - bought in the US. Pours rich, clear black-brown with a creamy, tan head. Big burnt wood, baking cocoa, some dried fruits, vanilla, scorched earth. Medium to big sweet flavour with oily, gooey chocolate, raisins, some burnt wood, earth, alcohol. Full bodied with creamy carbonation. Warming finish with further chocolate notes, alcohol, roast, dried berries, mild chili burn. Punchy stuff. Nice depth.

Bottle from Bine &n Vine. Pours dark brown with a transient, fizzy tan head. Aroma is cinnamon over dark treacle with a hint of chili. Near full bodied. Flavor is dark treacle, chocolate, bourbon, cinnamon and warming chili. The alcohol is well hidden. It is very warming - both alcohol and chili I suspect. Strong flavors, not dry, but pretty interesting with a good flavor profile.
