Barrique Rauchbier is a double-decocted, Märzen-style Rauchbier, mashed using beechwood-smoked malt and rich, toasty Munich malts. Gentle smokiness doesn’t overwhelm the subtle molasses sweetness and crusty malt character. Lagered in oak barrels for 5 weeks, our Rauchbier has a beautiful tannic structure to the mouthfeel, enhancing the experience of old-world brews.

This double decocted Märzen-style Rauchbier is crafted with premium Beechwood smoked malt and Munich malt from our friends at @weyermann_specialty_malts . This amber lager showcases a gentle smokiness that perfectly complements subtle molasses sweetness and a rich, crusty malt character. Savory, sweet, and smooth, our Rauchbier is the ideal companion for those cooler nights as we embrace the arrival of Fall. Enjoy the warmth and depth of flavors in this brew alongside all our classic Oktoberfest styles! Prost!

Can.

A- Copper color, clear liquid, off white head.

A- Faint smoke, malt, wood.

F- Smoked malt, beechwood, toasted grains, faint umami.

T- Medium body, average texture, average carbonation, malty finish.

O- Stays composed even as it got warm. Delicious. A nice smoked malt flavor that never turns into a ham brine flavor or campfire. Well balanced. I could drink a gallon of this. As good as any rauch I've tried and one of my favorite styles. This for whatever reason hit just right. A Top 20 beer for me for sure.

16 oz can. Aroma has notes of campfire smoke, caramel, hint of apple, bread, wood, brown sugar. Pours nearly clear amber with a thin beige head that settles into a ring fairly quickly. Taste has a malty sweetness, faint hoppy bitterness and light to moderate smokiness. Definitely less smoke than the rauchbiers of Bamberg, sadly. I still give Barrique kudos for attempting it, though. It does taste good.

16oz can from Tavour. Dark, clear amber pour, bubbly head dissipates quickly. Smoky, woody aroma. Taste is malty, smoky, nutty, cut wood with faint brown sugar notes.

Can from Tavour. Pours clear ruddy mahogany with a large foamy beige/tan head. Aroma has that Bamberg level of smoke. Med body. It's malty and fairly towards dry. Moderately bitter. But the smoke is so strong that it is hard to imagine grass/spice. Really good stuff.

Canned 9/8/25, drunk 11/15/25, as pictured.
Smokey and malty with light caramel, light campfire but no bacon. Hints of toast, low hopping. Clean with light pepper.
Soft and malty with more Marzen than Rauchbier but still plentiful campfire and woody smoke. Good dryness with pepper and mild red fruits. Light bread and light caramel. Great balance! Very approachable.

Tavour: pours amber with beige head. Aroma is smokey, little meaty, caramel, maltiness. Taste is smokey, sweetish, light bitterness. Hits the marks for the style. I like the style.
