Hugues Dubuisson is always on the lookout for extraordinary products. It was in this spirit that he came up with the idea of maturing Bush Triple in oak barrels, which had previously been used to store white Burgundy wine, more specifically the famous Charmes Meursault.
So the brewery bought 13 of these 228 litre barrels in which to produce its Bush Prestige de Charmes.
Thanks to this exceptional procedure, Bush Prestige de Charmes offers an extraordinarily rich taste on the palette.

Thanks to Anke & family for the bottle!
Pours hazy golden with a lasting, foamy, white head that leaves lacing. Complex aroma of apple, yeast, grain, white grapes, banana & mango, wood. It tastes medium fruity sweet and light to medium spicy bitter with light sour, yeasty & woody accents; dry, hoppy finish with warming (white wine) alcohol. Full body, slick texture, fizzy carbonation. Something special which worked out well, even though I don't like white wine.

Refrigerated 75 cl brown bottle corked and capped poured into a Trappist glass. Clear golden with big white head. Aroma is vineous, medium body, well carbonated, and some lacing. Taste is white wine and some oak. Champange like qualities, but I prefer the dark Belgian Ales. At $42 not worth the price of admission.

Mycket gott.

Many thanks for this limited beer to Eric De Geyter. Vintage 2015. Serve in Burgundy wine glass. Uwielbiam ten rodzinny browa. Fantastycznie i glosno wystrzelilo, dymek poszedl jak spaliny z rury wydechowej starego trabanta. Piana spora dynamicznie rosnie, trwala do samego konca. Po oproznieniu kieliszka ok 2-3 lyzki stolowe jej zostaje na dnie. Barwa pomaranczowo-jasno miedziana. Zapach dojzalych moreli i brzoskwin. Smakowo na poczatek uderza alkoholowa nuta po czym pojawiaja sie pomaranczowe owoce (morele i brzoskwinie), dochodzi lepkosc i slodycz jakby konfditura brzoskwiniowo-pigwowa).

750 ml bottle into tulip glass, bottled on 12/17/2014. Pours slightly hazy/cloudy deep golden/yellow color with a 2 finger fairly dense and fluffy white head with great retention, that reduces to a small cap that lingers. Nice spotty soapy lacing clings around the glass, with a moderate amount of streaming carbonation retaining the cap. Aromas of big lemon, peach, pear, apricot, red apple, white grape, melon, berry, orange, citrus peel, white wine, peppercorn, toasted oak, vanilla, hay, herbal, floral, grass, honey, candi sugar, cracker, and white bread; with light notes of musty funk, banana, bubblegum, clove, and yeast/oak earthiness. Touch of wine barrel booze in the aromas as it warms. Damn nice aromas with great balance and complexity of fruity/spicy yeast, white wine barrels, candi sugar, pale malt, and light-moderate earthy hop notes; with great strength. Taste of huge lemon, peach, pear, apricot, red apple, white grape, melon, berry, orange, citrus peel, white wine, peppercorn, toasted oak, vanilla, hay, herbal, floral, grass, honey, candi sugar, cracker, and white bread; with light notes of musty funk, banana, bubblegum, clove, and yeast/oak earthiness. Moderate peppery yeast spiciness, herbal/grassy bitterness, and light wine/oak tang/tartness on the finish. Lingering notes of lemon, peach, pear, apricot, red apple, white grape, melon, berry, orange, citrus peel, white wine, peppercorn, toasted oak, vanilla, hay, herbal, floral, grass, honey, candi sugar, cracker, white bread, light funk, and yeast/oak earthiness on the finish for a while. Incredible complexity, robustness, and balance of fruity/spicy yeast, white wine barrels, candi sugar, pale malt, and light-moderate earthy hop flavors; with a great malt/bitter/spiciness balance, and zero astringent flavors after the finish. Light-moderate increasing dryness from bitter/spiciness, wine/oak tang/tartness, and carbonation. Medium-high carbonation and medium-plus body; with a very smooth, moderately crisp, bready/grainy/sticky, and fairly tangy/tannic balanced mouthfeel that is great. Alcohol is fairly well hidden; a mildly increasing warmth of 10.5%, with a bit of barrel booziness lingering after the finish. Overall this is an incredible barrel aged Belgian strong pale ale! All around fantastic complexity, robustness, and balance of fruity/spicy yeast, white wine barrels, candi sugar, pale malt, and light-moderate earthy hop flavors; very smooth, crisp, and easy to drink for the big ABV, with the modestly bitter/spicy/drying finish. Amazing levels of perfectly balanced complexity from yeast and white wine barrels; great malt backing without being sweet/heavy feeling. Well attenuated and spot on for the style. A highly enjoyable offering.

Bottle picked up from Dranken Geers, Oostakker, nr Gent, Belgium, consumed at Fairport Annual Reunion, Saturday 12th August 2017. Pours gold hazy with a white head atop.Warmth comes through, spicy yeast. The flavour is certainly changed somewhat by the BA. Fruity with a distinctive winey twang. Nice. A7 A4 T8 P4 Ov15 3.8
