(Draught at Butcher’s Tears, Amsterdam, 19 Feb 2016) Black colour with creamy, beige head. Malty, roasted nose with chocolate, blueberries and black rye bread. Malty, roasted taste with notes of chocolate, coffee, blueberries and a balanced roasty bitterness. Medium body, with a touch of sweetness. Tasty and well balanced porter. Nice one.

33cl Bottle from De Bierkoning. Almost black colour, beige head. Aroma of roasted malts, some peanut, liquorice, ink, chocolate. Flavour is light to medium sweet, chocolate, burnt malts, ash, ink, dark fruits, pralines, yeast, bitter finish. Light bodied. Nice.

33 cl bottle @ home. Black color, Dense beige head with a thin layer retention. Aroma’s: hard roasted malts, moderate sweet coffee, dark chocolate, some red berry sourness. Retronasal it’s mostly hard roast, hints of sourness. Flavor is light sweet, with some roasted bitterness and a light sour note. Medium bodied. Slightly warming. Finish is roasted, dark chocolate.

Bottle sampled at Rootz winter beer festival. Thin creamy tan head. Clear deep burgundy pour. Chocolate in the aftertaste

Tap at Rootz Winterbier Festival. Pours near black with a medium tan head. Aroma of rich malt, raisins, overripe dark fruit, licorice and dark chocolate. Flavour is over moderate sweet and moderate bitter. Medium bodied with soft carbonation.
