Bottle from Kroger. Pours dark brown, not quite black, with an inch of brown head. Aroma of chocolate, buried fruit somewhere... Flavor is chocolate, combo of dark and milk, perhaps some chocolate candy, faint coffee, no fruitiness that I detected in the nose. It’s OK - nothing extraordinary.

Bottle on 17th July 2017, gift from a friend. Pours virtually black with a strongly yellowed shallow head of foam and virtually no lacing. Roasty aroma with bitter chocolate. Rich roasty malts in-mouth with dark chocolate. A touch of plum and raisin fruitiness, which shapes a finish of nutty chocolate. Full bodied with an engaging texture. A gorgeous chocolate stout.

Sampled on draft at Tapped this beer poured a black color with a huge soapy creamy beige head that rose over the glass, lingered and left great lacing. The aroma was toasty malts, cream and a hint of chocolate. The flavor was roasty and toasty with chocolate cream, wood and almost Graham cracker. Medium length finish. Medium body and smooth. Ok

Rich deep brown coloured body with a thinnish, single centimetre tall head that’s a nice brown colour. Aroma of chocolate (Surprise!), rich grain, alcohol, some caramelised sugars and a dose of coffee. Medium-bodied; Rich caramel, coffee and chocolate notes throughout with a roasty malt profile and some doses of metal and cream - very nice and rich throughout. Aftertaste is almost entirely roasty with coffee then chocolate coming through, but the malt and a touch of bitterness remains along with a lot of sugars - mainly from milk chocolate, but in a good way. Overall, a very well-balanced beer with a great chocolate and roast profile, but also showing a rounded quality and a sweetness that correctly balances the bitter, while also showing the faintest glimmer of alcohol. I sampled this twelve ounce bottle purchased from Crystal City Wine Shop in Arlington (20th Street Location), Virginia on 22-February-2017 for US$2,25 sampled at home in Washington a few blocks away on 07-May-2017.

Poured into a nonic pint glass, the appearance was a black color with a finger’s worth of rugged tan foamy head that dissipated at a nice pace. Nice speckled to spider web lace streams along the glass nicely.
The aroma brings in a nice blend of roasted coffee to milk chocolate. Some lactose with a touch of marshmallow and some light vanilla slide in nicely.
The flavor brings in the sweet to the roast nice and balanced. Semi-sticky yet roasty and sweet sort of aftertaste with some milk chocolate. Sticky sweet finish.
On the palate, this one sat about a light to medium on the body. Mild carbonation. Normal sticky sweet qualities of a sweet stout. ABV felt right.
Overall, very nicely done milk/sweet stout. Great for a late winter’s night.

Draught @ Albion. Dark brown with slight reddish tint agaist the light, creamy tan head, faint chocolate aroma, medium carbonation, lightly bitter mocha taste with alcohol undertones, somewhat thick body, longish mocha finish. The lingering bitterness has a quinine like quality.
