A Double Chocolate Porter that’s sensually crafted with Colonial Rosewood Cocoa, chocolate malt and lots of love. The addition of White Wheat gives Sex Panther a smooth, creamy head. Brewed since 2012.

16oz glass: on tap at The Stadium Brewing brewpub, California on 18th may 2015. More deep ruby red than black in my eyes, but certainly dark: on top a tanned foam blanket. Malts rule the nose and taste with mild chocolate notes leading the way in both the aroma and flavours. Not at all thin or weak it just did not seem robust or alcoholic enough for me: decent but lacking that extra touch to make it unforgettable.

Can split at Mother Arch, thanks to the Wingman, 03/01/15. Dark mahogany brown with reddish hues at the base of the glass, decent light tan covering. Nose is light roast, dark malt, cocoa rub, faint charring, brown bread, grain. Taste comprises light vanilla strokes, chocolate, dark malt, toffee, brown sugar. Medium bodied, fine carbonation, semi drying close. Ok porter but lacks depth ABV considered.

Can shared at Kernel. Thanks to the wingman. Mahogany brown / caramel coloured pour with a fleeting creamy head. Aroma is light caramel, faint choc powder, nutty. Flavour is composed of choccy nutty malts, bit of praline, soft choccy roast. Palate is medium light, powdery, highish carbonation. OK.

Pour is a dark brown with a small tan head. Aroma is slightly chocolaty and not much more than that. Flavor is again a marginal chocolate and kinda a minor roast. For being called a double chocolate porter this is not very chocolaty. This beer had a great name but kinda a let down after that.

Can. Pours mahogany with a medium tan head that dissipates pretty quickly and leaves good lacing. Aroma is milk chocolate with some roasted malts and molasses. Flavor is medium sweet, light plus bitter, very chocolatey, some dark sugars. Lingering bitterness. Fairly light body, but a creamy mouthfeel. Rerate - 01/31/15. Aroma is odd, roasty rubber with some chocolate notes. Flavor is light plus sweet, light bitter, roasty, bitter cocoa, not much going here. Lightish body, watery mouthfeel. Meh.

Growler thanks to Ilya! Pours a clear dark brown with a tan head that dissipates to the edges. Aroma has notes of bread and light chocolate with a hint of must underlying. Flavor has more chocolate with a slight bitterness and dark grains with a slight creaminess.

Draft - Roasted malts and some light sweetness. Clear dark mahogany with a beige head. Roasted malts, some dark chocolate and a pretty thin body. Expected so much more and was quite disappointing with this weak showing.
