Pistachio and chocolate are one hell of a combo. The sweet and savory notes of the pistachio blend beautifully in the rich, bitter and creamy texture of chocolate. So we did what we do best: making the dubai chocolate bar in beer style. A rich, Imperial Stout base of 35 Plato was loaded with freshly roasted cacao nibs and pistachio. Enjoy this indulgent beer!

33cl Blik van Ranzijn. Zwarte kleur, beige kraag.

0.33 l can from 'Hetbiermoment.nl', best before October 2027. Black with a thin, frothy, slowly diminishing, beige head. Sweetish-malty, quite roasty aroma of dark chocolate, coffee, pistachio, roasted hazelnut and light vanilla. Heavily sweet, malty, quite roasty, moderately bitter taste of praline, mocha, pistachio, roasted hazelnut and a touch of vanilla, followed by a long, fairly roasty-bitter finish. Full body, smooth and oily mouthfeel, very soft carbonation. Lovely sipper, very sweet and rich, and the pistachio matches perfectly with it.

Can day 21 if the beer advent calendar that I curated for Loz. Consumed at home Friday 26th December 2025 Boxing Day, after an 11km Loop hike today from Zwiedlerwaldhaus to Großer Falkenstein, we had Kacchi Lamb Biryani from the Curry Guy book and Onion Bhajis and Poppadoms, listening to Fleet Foxes - Fleet Foxes. Another great beer that lets itself down by being far too sweet, thickness in the mouth, lots of chocolate. So appearance wise it is jet black, if there was a head it disappeared before I took notes. There's a little bit of nuttiness but I don't really understand this Dubai chocolate craze, in fact I have purposefully avoided anything to do with this until now. Is it just me or are modern imperial stouts becoming too sweet. Ok think this is pretty good but struggling with the sweetness. Score 7.0

Blik thuis geprobeerd met LiekevdV. Het is een troebel diep donkerbruin bier met een bruinig schuim. Het heeft een aroma van chocolade. De smaak is vol gebrande mout, chocolade bitter en pistache achtig.
