Northern Monk Cans Night At Home Beers #3 of 3. Black with a small off-white head. The chocolate and maple are about equal in measure, and as it doesn't have a very sticky-sweet texture its flavours are complimented by it slipping easy down the palate relative to its strength. This is well-hidden too in taste, and it's a flavoursome stout.

Tasty and well rounded. It terribly complex but it is quite drinkable. Notes of bittersweet cocoa, roast, ash, earth, old berries, burnt toffee. Full bodied. Rather nice.

Can at home picked up from Sainsbury's. An opaque black brown coloured pour with a lasting mid tan head. Aroma is dark chocolate, mapel, oily chocolate, maple syrup , brown sugars, light smoke. Palate is medium sweet, oily, moderate carbonation. Flavour is composed of dark chocolate, some bitter chocolate, maple notes, oily, black tar, bitter sugars, Sweet and boost delivery.

440ml can from Sainsbury's - Overpowering sweet smoky maple nose is the first thing. Jet black body, tan head. Deep chocolate taste, roasted beans, bit of smokiness. Aroma is the hero in this one, rest is just an undercard.

Can. Nose is chocolate, maple, bitter coffee. Taste is bitter, coffee, slightly medicinal, slightly vegetable note, can't find the barrel. Really surprising how little sweetness there is it's very very bitter.
I wonder if the can I have might be on the turn
