Best before was 27.10.12, so now more than one year over. The beer in the glass is dark brown, the nose quite aroma-less, a bit malty. The beer starts nicely smooth, caramel, nice bitter hops, rye, probably the floral notes from the oats as well. The mainpart is quite intense, sweet-caramel, the hops become more bitter till the end, brown sugar, slightly roasted (or just the rye). --> interesting!! 10/10/9/10

On tap at the Bockbier Festival in Amsterdam. Pours a clear amber with a tan head that dissipates to the edges and laces. Aroma has some bread and grain notes with a hint of leaves underlying. Flavor has earthy grain and leaves through out with a bit of bread towards the finish.

A usual bok beer, but a little bit more special due to the use of rye and some spices.

Bottle at the Jopenkerk, Haarlem. Poured a clear mahogany with a bubbly off white head. The aroma is yeasty, leading to a medium bitter flavour with lots of roasted malt, yeast and liqourice on the silky smooth palate.

(bottle) reddish brown colour with a tall brown head; aromas of stewed fruit, bit of roast, chocolate; balanced flavour with a long light bitter finish; nice - a bit like a bock stout

330 ml shared bottle, as Jopen Bokbier, Viergranen is not mentioned on the label. Thanks to abemorsten! ABV is 6.5%. Dark ruby colour, large beige head. Dusty and malty aroma, hints of cigarbox as the beer warms up a lttle. Medium sweet flavour, malts, caramel, rye bread, mild roasty notes. Nice to drink.

22 Oct 2012 in Valkenburg, Holland: Cafe De Grendelpoort is having a Bockfest and this was one of the brews on-tap. Very dark, most likely the darkest Bok I saw during my stay in Holland. The head was also the whitest I saw on a Bok this time around. The aroma and taste were of roasted but not burnt malts with red berry notes in both the smell and mouth flavours. Coffee, prunes and plums can be added to the taste thoughts as this is a complex and interesting beer. Medium bodied and easy to drink: pity there were so mant to try, or I could have stayed on this for another one or three!

33 cl. bottle @ home, bought @ Mitra. Pours dark brown with a decent tan head. Spicy caramelsweet aroma. Malts, molasses and caramel dominate the taste with added dark chocolate and coffee. Aftertaste is rather short. Nonetheless a good, if not a standard bok, beer.
