This Pacific Northwest style IPA is full of bold hop flavors that are balanced by a strong malt backbone. Sheltered Bay IPA has a complex aroma of sweet toffee, freshly baked bread and vibrant orange and grapefruit zest. The medium-full body has a base of toasted malt with just a touch of sweet caramel to provide a great balance for the hops we use.

On tap at Honolulu Beer Works, pours a clear golden with a small white head. Aroma reveals bitter piney hops, earthiness, and bready malt. Flavour is somewhat bitter, with earthy hops, some pine cones, and bitter citrus zest. Not balanced or constructed well. Weak.

Draft. Amber beer with a cream head. Grapefruit aroma. Grapefruit and pine flavor with light tropical fruit. Medium bodied. Good bitterness. Grapefruit and light tropical fruit lingers with pine.

Light Amber orange. A bit of citrus and vegetal notes in the nose. The veggies leave in the flavor and is mostly citrus and light caramel malt. Bitter finish. Standard.

A golden amber ipa with a thin lacing off white head. In aroma, sweet fruity caramel malt with light grassy floral hops, treacle, very nice. In mouth, a nice sweet caramel malt with resinous floral hops, orange pulp, light fruity esters, nice. On tap at brewery.

Draft at Cheeseburger in Paradise. Nose is mango, papaya, and citrus. Dark orange with a big heavy lacing off white head. Flavor is lightly bitter with lots of fruitiness more tastewise like a triple than a single IPA.

Enjoyed on tap as part of a sampler at Honolulu Beerworks in Honolulu, HI. I didn’t take tasting notes for this one, but remember this being decent, just a typical IPA with not too much variance from the style.
