Deep dark amber and copper coloured body with a thick, five centimetre tall deeply tan head and the head pours out immediately when opening the can. Aroma of toasted malt, alcohol, grain, pine, citrus and a bit of apple and fruit notes as well. Medium-bodied; Strong nutty and earthy flavour with a lot of grain, some lemons and citrus notes, a bit of tea and a toffee-y and caramelised sugar flavour near the end, especially. Aftertaste shows a lot of grain, toffee, earth, pungency and alcohol with the hops not really the strongest flavour, but still around and showing a lot of complexity from the different types. Overall, a good and relatively English-styled IPA with a good nutty, earthy, malty and caramel flavoured presence instead of the high alpha acid hops that are typical with the West Coast styles. I sampled this twelve ounce can purchased from Liqour Collection in Honolulu, Hawaii on 30-December-2015 for US$3,50 sampled on the other end of our fine country on 01-November-2016 at home in Washington.
