Silencio is a sour black ale artfully aged in Kentucky Bourbon Barrels. The addition of Madagascar Vanilla Beans and El Silencio Coffee from local Mountain Air Roasting culminates in a complex and elevated sour ale.

Big Bottleshare at Craft Islington. Thanks to Manny G. Opaque dark brown beer, tidy pale tan head. Palate is airy and mildly dry, reasonable fine carbonation. Weird sourish dark chocolate. Modest coffee. Tangy dark fruits. Dry finish. Sour chocolate linger. The overall sour chocolate grates on me.

Bottle shared at the CBC big bottle share. 7/7/2016. Many thanks to Manny G for this one. A hazed mahogany brown coloured pour with a loose halo of beige head. Aroma is sweet vanilla, choc, caramac bar. Flavour is composed of tangy sour apple, puckering, caramac, vanilla, coco, choc, hershwys. Bar. Palate is sour moderate carbonation. Weird.

Bottle at Craft Islington, big thanks to Manny G. It pours hazy dark brown with a small tan head. The aroma is sweet, tangy, sour, roasted malt, vanilla and fizzy cola bottles. The taste is crisp, tart, tangy, earth, vanilla, cola, sherbet, lemon, Granny Smith apple and some candy. Medium body and moderate, fizzy carbonation. Plenty of sour sweet character. Its all about the fizzy cola bottles!

From a 500 cl bottle shared at the 2016 Nuplastik is back tasting. Pours a clear cola with an off white head. Vinous nose. Flavors of anise and dark cherry with a touch of oak and vanilla. Different.

Bottle @ home with jcnielsen. Thanks Justin! Pours a deep brown / black appearance with a brown head. Aroma has heavy vanilla, chocolate, caramel, coffe, booze / whiskey. Medium body. Moderately sour. Low bitterness. Off dry. Flavor is somewhat like dessert with kahlua, coffee, cream, and vanilla. Finishes sour and a touch sweet. Not my favorite style but this is OK.
